What’s going to be interesting this off-season is to see what Poles does and doesn’t say about Fields. If they’re smart, he should give off lukewarm feelings and say everything is on the table. Publicly going all-in on Fields, even if that is the case, only hurts them when talking to other teams.
-
Dude, you like the Lions. We get it.
-
Packers out. The Bears had Tim Boyle starting at QB today and this is like the best day in the last decade for the Bears lol
-
-
Awful. Liam seems like a fantastic guy and I’m sure he’s going to raise a lot of awareness and money for the cause. Really hope they caught it early and he’ll be Ok. Baseball doesn’t matter with something like this.
-
He won’t.
-
Whatever happens, the Bears are going to 100% drive the entire NFL offseason, and I’m here for it
-
They would still get a haul for Fields, so it’s also like trading out of the No. 1, so it can work. I don’t think they should or will, but they can certainly consider it
-
Yeah, counting on David Mills for anything was a mistake

Be a hero, Lovie

I 100% think trading down is the right move. They need volume, not a franchise defensive player (there isn’t an WR/OL that has 2nd overall potential it seems) Like any team, it all rides on the QB. If Fields is the guy, honestly they have all the assets and flexibility (credit to Poles there) they need to put together a competitive team next season. But this is the most important offseason probably in the last decade honestly.
-
And in Joe Burrow’s rookie season, 2020, the year before they went to the Super Bowl, they were 4-11-1. Things can turn around quickly in the NFL. You don’t think Fields is the guy. That’s fine. Maybe the Bears don’t either. But if they do, and if Fields is “the guy”, the notion of “punting” to 2025 is laughable
-
So by doing this, effectively the Bears won’t be competing for a playoff spot until at least 2025, probably 2026 as rookie QB’s have historically not performed well when they start Week 1. And this plan heavily revolves around the unknown and projections. The Bears currently have a Top 10 Drafted QB that not only improved in 2022 over his 2021 stats, doing it with much less talent around him, but they currently hold the No. 2 overall pick and have more money to spend in FA than anyone else in the league. Punting until 2025…is not the play.

2nd Base I guess it’s going to be Sosa or Gonzalez?
Tony replied to AJ'S Cousin's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I don’t get Crochet for Gleybar for the Yankees. The odds of Crochet turning into a starter seem slim, so if you can acquire a 4 WAR 2nd still in his arb years, seems like an easy call. -
The only reason I could see it being a realistic option is Fields not being a Poles guy. Wanting to win with “his guy” I still think it’s super unlikely

Sorry, I have a job and obligations, I don't get paid to make bets with dolts. You also couldn't contain yourself, you posted that I got "real quiet" in less than hour, it took you three days to "answer" my question, and you totally moved the goalposts on what you originally stated, because you were called out for it by multiple people. I answered the question, the same one you asked me days ago. You know what I said. You're more than welcome to leave the site at anytime, with or without the Bears record factoring into the decision.
-
Alright, just wanted to confirm you were completely full of s%*# and had no idea what you were talking about. I knew it, just wanted to get confirmation. You couldn't name a single player. Also, as a cherry on top, the "parameters" you used in your search were from "at least 2020", which is the year that Burrow got there, so that doesn't even match up to what you said. Bad showing by you...just bad.
-
Your entire is argument is based around the fact drafting your franchise QB when the rest of your team isn't ready to compete is a flawed strategy. You claimed the Bengals "built out much of their roster before they drafted Burrow" Joe Burrow was drafted in 2020, and in 2019 the Bengals went 2-14. So who are these players that the Bengals had on their roster BEFORE Burrow got there that helped lead them to a Super Bowl?
-
Not until you answer the question, which you still haven’t done.
-
Yet still no answer from you. Shocking.

Jesse Rogers: Sox Sign Benintendi - 5yr / $75M
Tony replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It's hilarious that on the same day, the Cubs are airing the press conference for TUCKER BARNHART on Marquee but the Andrew Benintendi press conference isn't for the public. -

It's that attitude that has partly gotten the Sox to where they are at today. "Welp, this is the way it's going to be, I'm still going to buy tickets and watch every day because I love the White Sox, hopefully it's different in 2032." Sorry, that's not good enough for me when teams in the same league the White Sox play in operate in a totally different fashion. I have higher expectations for the teams I root for than that. I've said all along I'm not going to stop anyone from being optimistic or rooting the way they want, but doesn't mean I have to agree with it, or join the "Being mad doesn't solve anything" group. The fan base bending over signifies this type of behavior is acceptable. Being upset with the team might not change ownership, but my wallet is going to be heavier, and my time will be spent on things that better serve my interests. -

I thought I explained it pretty clearly, but I’ll try one more time, and keep it simpler. No one is surprised by the moves they made this offseason. It’s what the White Sox do. We shouldn’t accept it being OK.
