  1. But this continues to be the problem and continues to be what this board keeps talking about. It doesn't have to be this way. I don't think @Dick Allenexpected the Sox to add $250 million dollars in contracts this offseason, but why shouldn't we? There is a difference between what we all expect out of a JR lead team, and what we all feel like should happen. I don't anyone was super unrealistic here. Expecting to add some real depth behind Grandal, who literally was one of the worst MLB players last year, something more than Selby Zavala, isn't unrealistic. Adding someone better than Mike Clevinger isn't unrealistic. Adding a veteran 2B that has some track record isn't unrealistic. And this is always where the argument starts. It's not that anyone expected the Sox to make all those moves...because we know the sorry history of this team. It doesn't mean we all have to lower our standards and just bend over to what the Sox give us. f*** that. They deserve to be called out after going out of their way to tank in 2017-2018-2019, then in their "World Series Window" not act like an actual contender....they should continue to be held accountable.
  2. I also think because it was MNF between two very good teams, as gross as it is...because it happened in the first quarter, they wanted to get those ad dollars in for as long as possible
  3. I don't even know if you can play tomorrow, they are both currently set for Sunday, you could flex it out to Monday but it still is a short window.
  4. Going to be very interesting to see how/when this game is played.
  5. Seriously, what an awful situation all the way around.
  6. I expect the Bears to be in the playoff hunt next season. Might not make it, but I expect them to be in the hunt all season. The year after, I would fully expect them to be the favorites in the division. If they aren't, they messed up. Fields might not be the reason why, it may be bad roster management by Poles, injuries, or a host of reasons, but it doesn't matter. If they aren't on that path, then they failed. (Should also be noted the "approach" the Bears have taken wasn't all executed by the current management team. Poles didn't trade that capital or draft Fields. But given the incredibly poor cap management by Pace, a "reset" to clear out dead money and players was absolutely the right decision.)
  7. It absolutely was. But again, as multiple people have already said, just because the Bengals did it one way, doesn't mean that's the only path. More importantly, that's not what you said, by any stretch. Quote: So as we've already asked, as Burrow was drafted in April of 2020, when you say "much of their roster", who are these players? How strong was the core of the 2019 Bengals, a team that went 2-14? Just answer the question.
  8. Because they are indisputable facts, rather than some sort of false narrative created by a weird subjective take that everything has failed because the Bears had a shitty game against the Lions.
  9. You have zero grasp of reality, similar how you were on a campaign this last White Sox season to tell anyone that would listen that the team was “right on the cusp” until, you know, they weren’t. Last season the Bengals made the Super Bowl. They were led by Joe Burrow (2020 Draft), Ja’Marr Chase (2021), DJ Reader (2020 FA), Logan Wilson (2020), Tee Higgins (2020), Trey Hendrickson (2021 FA), Joe Mixon (2017), Vonn Bell (2020 FA) and Larry Ogunjobi (2021 FA) Who are these other key, long term Bengals that were the foundation of the 2021 Super Bowl Bengals?
  10. Because like almost everything in life, there are exceptions to the rules, and in this case, two all-time QB's we're pretty good once they entered the league (Without mentioning Rodgers was drafted in 2005 but didn't start until 2008) The discussion was around Justin Fields and the need for him to get better at the passing game. The stats provide illustrate a collection of notable QB's that had double the amount of pass attempts in college than Fields, which amplifies the idea that the 23 year old Fields may actually still be developing in the passing game, and it's not time to draft a QB with the 2nd overall pick in this years draft.
  11. You asked "Who do the Lions have outside of 2021 fourth round pick St. Brown?" You included where St. Brown was drafted, so I answered your question. I'm sorry if you don't like the answer.
  12. Jameson Williams, 1st round pick out of Alabama? DJ Chark, 2nd round pick out of LSU? TJ Hockenson also spent most of the season with Detroit and was a Top 10 pick out of Iowa.
  13. Congratulations, you know the names of two of the best QB's to ever play the game! What's your point?
  14. He needs to work on his passing, but I don't know why this is a surprise to anyone. As Albert Breer wrote last month: Furthermore, in college, these are pass attempts: Justin Herbert – 1,293 Patrick Mahomes – 1,349 Andrew Luck – 1,064 Russell Wilson – 1,489 Matt Ryan – 1,347 Ben Roethlisberger – 1,304 Justin Fields - 618 Yes, Justin Fields needs to become a better passer. Given the athletic ability we've seen on display, I have faith he can get there. Having actual NFL WR's and a decent OL will help him get there much quicker.
  15. It’s still a very dumb post/take. You’re using an emotional response from todays game to erase Weeks 6-7-8-9-10-11-13-15 (didn’t play week 12, bye was week 14) He’s also 23. He also had 132 rushing yards today. He is also throwing the worst WR core in the league, with a bad offensive line. He had a bad game. The Bears will be sitting on one of the most valuable commodities in the NFL in April, and using it to fill a position that is currently occupied by far and away their most talented player (who is also still on his rookie contract) is an awful use of resources, especially when you consider all the other needs on this team. You’re better than that
  16. Except for the younger generation, it absolutely is. It's fascinating to talk to kids about how they consume sports. I had breakfast this week with family and my cousin, who is 7, is a fan of basically every AL East team as they live outside of Boston. His favorite team right now is the Blue Jays because of Vlad and Bo Bichette. He watches the game recaps on YouTube every morning. I've got two cousins on the other side of my family who are 10 and 12 and they root for Golden State, the Mavs, and the Suns because of Steph, Luka and Devin Booker. And I've heard that from multiple parents, that with kids having access to YouTube at an early age, they aren't "trapped" by just having to root for the team in the city they live in. They like watching stars, like they watching fun, entertaining games. And maybe that's the way to do it. Additionally, one of the main reasons why the Cubs and Braves became incredibly popular was their accessibility. People across the country could consume those teams on WGN and TBS. In 2022, you can basically consume everything you want from your phone. As time goes on, teams are going to have to not only produce winners, but players people want to see. A team like the White Sox has relied on fans like us being "born into" Sox fandom and knowing they have their hooks locked in, but I don't think that's going to continue with new generations of fans.
  17. The problem is even it shouldn't even be believable, yet it 100% is.
  18. I know you want to take a positive approach to things, and more power to you...but history is absolutely not on your side on this one. There is enough present and historical evidence to tell us TLR would most likely have gotten another crack at things in 2023.
  19. As I've always said, if you're going to troll, at least try and put some effort into it. This is just such laziness, it's gross.
  20. We use the Nanit camera which has been great, really never had a problem with it and the app works really well. We also use a Hatch sound machine, which both helps her sleep and also keeps out other household noises.
  21. Gotcha. We had a few rough nights with the transition to the crib but basically took the cry it out approach and she seemed to adjust pretty quick. But obviously if there is something wrong, or they are coughing, or really working themsevles up we go in. How long has he been in the crib now? I remember watching ours on the monitor during that phase and just having to go in and flip them over when she would roll, which sucks, but it doesn't last very long.
