I'll try this again with you. We have documented history that in the last 5 years, the Royals held an organizational seminar with players to discuss the negative effects of masturbation and pornography. I don't recall another example of that in professional sports, but anti-masturbation seminars also aren't a hobby of mine, so maybe I missed others that took place. Dayton Moore, President of the Royals, is quote " Very public with his faith, openly sharing his adherence to Christianity, and how it impacts his life." Mike Matheny, current manager of the Royals, was quoted as saying "First, my faith has been clear and open. Every year at spring training I explain to my guys I stand for certain things as a follower of Christ." Now, being a Christian is far from a crime, and good for Dayton Moore and Mike Matheny for being confident in what they believe in. Go nuts. Don't have any issue with that. I do believe however given the importance of their religion to Moore and Mathey, probably the two biggest decision makers in that organization, it's not a random happenstance that their organization would hold a seminar on the detrimental effects of pornography to professional baseball players. According to Pew in 2021: "A large majority of Republicans identify as Christians, substantially higher than the share of Democrats who are Christians. Conversely, Democrats are much more likely than Republicans to be religiously unaffiliated – describing themselves as atheists, agnostics or “nothing in particular” when asked about their religion." Additionally, "Religiously unaffiliated voters make up 38% of Democratic voters. This has roughly doubled since 2008, when this group made up 18% of Democrats. Over this period, the share of Democratic voters who are Christians has declined from 74% to 52%. White Christians continue to make up a large majority of Republican voters. According to Brookings in October of 2021, Of Americans surveyed from Sept. 13-22, 72% of adults 18 and older had been vaccinated, including 71% of white Americans, 70% of Black Americans, and 73% of Hispanics. Contrast these converging figures with disparities based on politics: 90% of Democrats had been vaccinated, compared with 68% of Independents and just 58% of Republicans." Link here So...given that the Kansas City Royals have an incredibly high number of players that will now appear on the restricted list because they are unvaccinated, more than any other team thus far this season...Yes, I do believe the organization played a role in or had an influence in player decision making process...something you are very clearly against.

I’d be able to buy that more if they didn’t have a mandatory meeting set by the President of the team to discuss how masterbation and pornography lead to domestic abuse of women. These aren’t kids, they are adults. Why not let them make their own decisions as adults, why pressure them? Again, you can’t have it both ways.

Given that 10 out of 26 players didn’t get vaccinated, it really doesn’t seem like the “bullying culture” you suggest had any impact. But that works both ways. Given what I posted earlier with the Royals hosting an insanely weird “anti-pornography” seminar for the entire organization, along with Dayton Moore and Mike Matheny going out of there way to tell the world how important their faith is, there seems to be a trend with how the Royals conduct their business and what they believe in. Given that thus far the Royals have far and away the most players on a single team that have to go on the restricted list…it’s not a very far leap to take that the organization has pushed their views on their players.

This is supposed to be in the heart of the Sox World Series window. Instead it's a below .500, drama-filled disaster. Just don't find the humor in any of this. It's all just such a wasted opportunity. It was all right there for the taking. I've said it before and I'm sure it will be said again. I just can't fathom how these billion-dollar businesses are run so poorly. Boggles the mind.

It doesn't matter though. It's an organizational failure. Hahn isn't an indentured servant. If he's powerless, he can choose to leave. And if he's as smart as some think, he'll land on his feet. If you make the decision to stay, it's on him, just like it's on Kenny, Tony, Jerry, etc.

Unless new ownership comes in....this is all just re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic. I don't care if Hahn and Williams are gone, the new regime will have the same restraints.

The most passionate we've seen TLR during this tenure with the White Sox is when he was absolutely burying his own player for hitting a home run when he wasn't supposed to.

The problem is there are a few teams that are always so low and just up against the cap floor, there is "competition" sometimes to take on bad money, it's not a slam dunk like you might think it should be. However, I still contend something like the Seth Jones deal simply can't be moved, it's just too long of a deal right now.

You have zero idea what took place. Zero. You can laugh all you want, but I don't know who the source or sources are. What I do know is 1. Nightengale has been right on about the Sox way more than he's wrong 2. He's not running with this unless someone very high up told him it's accurate. Let's see if someone disputes it...I won't hold my breath.

I know you never agree with any form of White Sox slander, but it’s amazing your lack of understanding on a topic like this. Do you think Bob Nightengale just….made this up? The same Bob Nightengale that broke the news Tony LaRussa was being hired by the White Sox, and the same Bob Nightengale that has leaked countless other Sox nuggets over the years? What do you think happened here? He heard rumors from a guy who’s friend with another guy who heard this rumor over text, and Bob just decided to run with it? Or is it possible the USA Today baseball writer was told this information by multiple high-ranking individuals who wanted it printed, Nightengale confirmed it and printed it?

At this point, there is no evidence that logically would lead you to any other conclusion. The collection of Kenny Williams, Rick Hahn and Jerry Reisndorf working together have an abysmal performance record. There isn’t really any other way to look at it

"It" is the key word here. "It" is everything. None of what we are watching matters, because with this current structure in place, they aren't achieving anything that is going to get us excited as fans. This is who they are. Aside from falling ass backwards in 2005, they've proven time and time again that they are light years behind the elite teams in MLB. Year after year, season after season.....the joke is on us for still hanging around. We're the assholes.

My point is I don't think he has a market with that contract. It was a joke when Bowman did it, it looks even worse now. I have NO IDEA how that got approved when it did, especially with an investigation going on. It's incredible how poorly billion-dollar businesses are run.

I don't have as good of a read on the NHL as I did 18 months ago, but my sense is Seth doesn't have many options with that contract he signed....

I get it, but the 2002 White Sox were fairly mediocre, 2003 wasn't a total surprise but in 2005 you obviously won it all...2006 brought back basically the entire same team. The major difference was you replaced Aaron Rowand with an incredibly hyped-up 1st Round pick in Anderson, and replaced Carl Everett with Jim Fucking Thome. The pitching staff just couldn't handle it.
