  1. Combined all season, I probably saw 1 1/2 periods of hockey from the Blackhawks. Felt nice.
  2. That's an AWFUL trade. A 24-year-old 40-goal scorer for two lottery tickets? The odds of finding a player at 7 and 39 to replace his production have to be incredibly low. I don't get this one.
  3. I'll take 2006 over 2003 in terms of more talent/more disappointment. They won 90 games and came in 3rd place.
  4. This......isn't correct.
  5. I'm going to say it. I hope the pegging was worth it, Ritchie.
  6. The Sox aren't going to have a single player hit 20 HR. It's hard to comprehend that in 2022
  7. You can't win these games, against this Twins bullpen, they don't deserve to sniff October.

    2022 Catch All

Fine. Then how about everyone put on their big boy pants and try and do two things at once. We can focus on mental health AND try and get as many guns out of the wrong people's hands at the same time. It's the most bat shit insane debate I've ever witnessed. We're the only country this happens at this frequency. Why? If you want to claim it's our culture and mental health, and not a gun issue....then wouldn't you think you'd want to make it sort of hard to get a gun with this many crazy people running around? But nothing will change because our political system is a cesspool filled with incompetence and loons, in all branches, on all sides. We're supposed to be celebrating our freedom today? We've had shootings at nightclubs, concerts, schools, grocery stores, movie theaters, parades, restaurants.....we're not free.

    2022 Catch All

Nah, that's the job of the NRA.
  10. It's so, so, so good. My wife just can't get into Marvel (she's tried) but she really enjoys watching The Boys. It's gotten better every season.
  11. Luckily this only needs to be explained to @tray, NO ONE else thinks it’s a good idea
  12. I love a good comeback story. Seabiscut, The Mighty Ducks, Robert Downey Jr, Kim Kardashian….
  13. If I understand this correctly, the Sox are about to go on a roll and there is a good chance Richie got pegged last night. Story seems to check out. Thread approved. ?
  14. What bothers me about this post is it totally absolves the rest of the FO, training staff, and players. It's why I sometimes wonder if the La Russa hire was looked at as a good thing by Hahn and Williams. If the Sox win, great....everyone celebrates, everyone goes home happy. If they lose, it's not about the roster construction anymore, it's now on TLR and his failures in the dugout and keeping guys healthy. When in reality, this roster was flawed entering the season, and obviously still is today. It's not to say TLR isn't a huge problem. He is. You're correct in your use of the clown emoji. But I just don't want people to lose sight of how big of a failure this is across the board. No one should come out clean of this mess, but I fear people will.
  15. Let's slow down a little, champ. Anderson and Vaughn, two first-round picks, have provided a great impact at the ML level. Anderson was the first hitter the Sox had drafted since Crede to make an all-star game. AAA and AA currently have zero projected ML quality bats in the system. The pitching? lol
  16. Again, you’re just flat out wrong here. I could almost buy it if he wasn’t under control for next season, but it still wouldn’t be accurate. You’re putting FAR too much weight on a bad June.
  17. This is absolutely not true, by really any standard. He's making 7.5 million this season and next will be his last arb year. On May 25th of this season, he was sporting an ERA of 2.63. He's had a terrible June but given that Giolito is in his age 27 season and has put up 3 consecutive seasons of well-above-average production, expecting a C-level prospect back for Giolito is an insane take on June 27th
  18. And what if they bet on the wrong horses, and guys like Moncada, Robert, Eloy are just wound a little too tight, and will never stay on the field for extended periods of time? This is a results business. Most observers saw the Sox having a window between 2020-2023 based on how contracts are structured and the core ages of this group. We were told, by the front office, that a World Series was the expectation this season. Oh, and this was a franchise that got rid of their training staff last year and spent time in the offseason looking for a new staff....and we've seen how that's worked out thus far. On June 27th, they have the same amount of wins as the Orioles. Since the ASB last year, they are well under .500. Reserve judgment? For what?
