  1. Cubs - Sox on a Saturday night in May and I won’t be watching a second. Sitting on the couch about to watch an episode of Stranger Things. Such a sad state of affairs.
  2. Agree with everything you said, I’ve really liked listening to Dylan when he’s interviewed, been fun to see the maturation process.
  3. I just based it off his Twitter follow list. Seems to be on that side of the fence. (Which whatever, pitch well and don’t be a total scumbag, you’re OK in my book)
  4. Very possible. Pollock was a total shot in the dark.
  5. My guess is Cease and Pollock
  6. But they still might pick up the option!!!!!! Lol
  7. I mean, what else are we supposed to do? If I was a fan of them acquiring Kimbrel, but then it doesn't work out and he's awful.......it was a bad move. I can still understand the process behind it, but I expect the GM of the team I root for to be smarter than me. I'll put it another way. If Rick Hahn makes 10 moves, and I like 8 of them, great. But if those 8 moves that I liked end up not working for the Sox...that probably means the team doesn't have a good record, and I probably no longer want Rick Hahn as the GM of my team. He doesn't get a pass for building a flawed team because I was excited about a move at the time.
  8. Not sure I understand the point of this thread. What are you trying to accomplish or hoping to prove here? I think you believe you're defending Hahn and the job he's done, but in reality you're saying any fan could have done the job he's done. Furthermore, what do you expect fans to be doing right now? We were told, by the man you're defending, that this was a World Series or bust season. The time is now. This is the window. The Sox are 22-22 and have one of the worst run differentials in baseball. What should the fans be saying, @vilehoopster?
  9. Come on, man. I give this organization heaps of shit, but he’s got the highest ERA in the majors. Basically, Dallas is a FA at the end of the year but the Sox have a choice if they want to keep him 1 more year. You really think they have any interest in running it back with him, especially at 20 mil? That option was NEVER going to be picked up.
  10. I ask again, why would we believe they would get it right by “starting over?”
  11. Even if there isn’t, the whole idea of “re-tooling” or “rebuilding” is dumb. So the same guys just get another 5-6 years at this thing? Why will it be any different. There is talent on this roster and the ALC is awful. This team is incredibly flawed and I have huge issues with the organization, but they aren’t going to have a better opportunity to win these next two years over the next decade, IMO. They went all-in with this roster, they need to see it though.
  12. This premise makes very little sense from a baseball standpoint. He’s signed for the next 2 1/2 years. That’s a long time. 2 1/2 years ago, Ivan Nova lead the Sox in innings pitched. He’s also playing at the absolute highest level he’s ever played at. I could not think of a worst time to sit down at the table with him and his agent. There is zero reason, other than sentiment, for the Sox to engage in extension talks with Anderson right now. See how the next few seasons go. Who knows what the makeup of the team looks like in a few years. If this all goes to shit, I wouldn’t want a 32 year SS locked up for 6/7 more years. If things are going well in two years….you have the discussion. But generally speaking, giving a long term deal for an ultra-athletic player during his age 33-37 seasons seems like a bad idea. You’re paying for past production, not what you believe he will do during those future years.
  13. I can’t believe we are still doing “Skin color doesn’t matter” in 2022.
  14. Just want to say thanks for taking the time to share this the board. ?
  15. Don’t care what his skin tone is, anytime you take the side of Jason Whitlock, you’re on the side I don’t want to be on. He’s proven that time and time again.
  16. Sad part is they’ve gotten a lot of the fan base to buy into that same way of thinking. “All they have to do is make the playoffs, anything can happen once you’re in!” What a crock of shit.
  17. If another ML team was interested in Andrew Vaughn, you think they are acquiring him and not knowing what they are getting? You think a GM just fires up MLB.com and watches highlights? “Before the rest of the league finds out?” Because you watch Sox games, you think you have a better idea who Vaughn is than an advanced scouting department for a major league organization?
  18. This was obviously made public to send a warning shot to the locker room that changes may be coming if this doesn’t get turned around soon. You don’t tell the press about a closed door meeting unless you want it public for a reason.
  19. The combination of Kenny and Rick oversee the entire organization. That goes beyond just the 40-man roster. That includes minor league roster construction, coaching staffs, analytic departments, scouting staffs, etc. The “good” news is I still believe they did a very good job assembling a core that would be ready to compete at a very high level, all in their primes. No easy task and I believe they successfully identified a very strong amount of talent from other organizations to acquire, and found ways to make it happen. The “bad” news is similar to the Bears who refuse to surround their key pieces (or piece in the current case of Fields) with the necessary talent needed, you have a flawed roster that has their window close prematurely. This includes a training staff that seemingly can’t keep those key investments on the field, as well as a manager who uses philosophies from the late 70’s in 2022. Additionally, when moves like trading Madrigal are made, they have no acceptable replacements ready to fill the void. Awful free agent additions add up to a pretty bad formula.
  20. Honestly, I envy you. I wish I rooted for a team where I could defend their decisions and see the logic in what they are doing. Must feel good. Alas, I root for the White Sox.
  21. I’ll explain it to you. I’m not ok just getting into the playoffs and “seeing what happens.” The Astros, who out classed the Sox in 2021, have made 5 straight ALCS. That’s not luck. The attitude your describing is the attitude the Sox have taken, which has earned them one of the most depressing 100 year stretches for any professional franchise. I’m not going to apologize for wanting more. You shouldn’t either.
