  1. What the hell are we doing here, why is this taking so long?
  2. They are playing better than they were. This is good. They still can’t hit RH pitching. This is bad.
  3. Still can't figure out if this is a bit or not.
  4. No, Apple TV has an app on Roku that is very easy to use.
  5. Prozac and Zoloft usually work for most people.
  6. Man I wish Abreu wasn't fucking awful this season.
  7. He's resting guys for the playoffs which is absolutely not a certainty at this point. I 100% understand looking at the big picture with things (and I couldn't care less that the Cubs are on the schedule) but he's gone overboard with the "keeping guys fresh" stuff
  8. But if you were using the data that is available, you shouldn't have come to that conclusion.

  10. They are facing a LH. I'm very happy to see the approach by the Sox right now but crushing LHP is nothing new with this team. We know they can do it, which is awesome. The problem is 2/3 of the league throws with their right hand the Sox can't seem to figure them out.
  11. Menechino quotes: Spring Training 2022: https://theathletic.com/3249352/2022/04/14/in-reversing-their-struggles-against-robbie-ray-white-sox-offense-continues-strong-start/ April 25, 2022: https://theathletic.com/3269157/2022/04/25/white-sox-seek-patience-to-reverse-offensive-slump-if-youre-not-taking-your-walks-youre-falling-into-their-plan/ Now, you stated earlier: My point, along with others, is that doesn't seem very clear at all.
  12. So then you're suggesting multiple-time all-stars, a former MVP, silver sluggers, etc.....all have changed their approach for the worse...because the Sox hitting coach, who was also here last year, told them to take this new approach? I don't buy that.
  13. The article in the Athletic last week with quotes from Menechino completely contradicts this. He basically put it back on the players. He wants them to wait on their pitch, he knows they are getting slider'd to death because too many guys are swinging at balls in the dirt, they aren't seeing a ton of fastballs right now. I've never been in the dugout, but I've always looked at a hitting coach to provide a player and team a general philosophical approach on how they want to engage with a specific hitter, as well as what they are trying to do as a team. It's on the players to execute on that plan. Menechino was very open in that story and I suggest you read it. I don't put the blame on him.
  14. And that’s good enough for you? What has that gotten the Sox the last two years? A first round exit. What did the Sox do in the offseason to make themselves better? Why should we as fans think the playoffs will be any different? (save the “Once you make the postseason it’s a total crap shoot!” line because the Astros 5 straight ALCS visits end that theory pretty quickly.) I don’t believe the Sox will play at this pace all season. They will get players back, MLB will probably screw with the ball again, and a lot of the guys on the roster will start hitting closer to their historical averages. With all that said, I still think this club has a ton of deficiencies, a lot of which we knew in the offseason and nothing was done to address it.
  15. I’m sorry you’re so offended by anyone being critical of this franchise. I’m sorry I don’t meet your standard of being a fan. You can make any assumption you want, I’m not going to stop you, knock yourself out. ps- thanks for addressing all the points I laid out! No big deal.
  16. I’m sorry you find it “totally unacceptable.” You know what I find totally unacceptable? Having a GM for the last decade that still hasn’t won a playoff series. Having a GM show zero interest in bringing back one of their best performing pitchers last year, and replace him with Vince Velasquez. Having s GM be fully aware he built a lineup that isn’t capable to hitting RHP, and doing nothing to address it in the offseason. Having a FO take their Opening Day starter to arbitration over $50,000. Having ownership dig LaRussa out of the ground to manage the team. Sorry, I’m not going to “cool it.” Deal with it.
  17. I don’t know if this is supposed to be defending the FO or not. And right now the Sox aren’t anywhere close to a good team. You are what your record is. Maybe they become a good team when everyone is healthy, but we’ve seen that this is a collection of players that doesn’t really stay healthy. You can believe anything you want. It’s a flawed roster that can’t hit RHP, which we knew last year, the FO did NOTHING to address it and guess what…..it’s coming back to bite them.
  18. The scary thing is…who takes his spot? That’s how bad the depth is on this team. Not sure they have a better option at this point. Really unreal this team had World Series hopes.
  19. Yes you can, because that’s EXACTLY what the Sox did. They made up a narrative that was bullshit from the jump, and now it’s coming back and costing them W’s This organization deserves everything it’s getting right now.
