  1. But there is a major difference here. A Front Office can have the objective to tank/lose for better draft positioning. That has become standard in almost every professional sport, and I don't see it changing anytime soon. The coaching staff and players should always be expected to do everything in their power to win as many games as possible. They shouldn't be concerned about what is happening upstairs, they should be focused on the game itself and performing to the best of their abilities. That shouldn't change, ever. When an owner is telling a coach to lose, that crosses a major line from the Sox (or anyone else) tanking/rebuilding. If RH/KW ever told Renteria that he should lose on purpose, or he would receive a bonus if they lost X amount of games, that would be wrong on many levels.
  2. Decent chance of that. He wants this to go away and for some bizarre reason, he thought his technique last night would work. Was really amazing to see that on display last night. And it shows you just how insulated someone at that level can be...never having to answer tough questions, never having anyone really challenge him on anything. I would imagine at some point when you are surrounded by that for years and years and years, you forget how to respond to actual criticism or tough questions. That is not an excuse for what Rocky did in any way, shape or form by the way...if what I just wrote above is true, then that's on Rocky for creating that environment, but I do think that was at play last night.
  3. Honestly, this all made me happy, just to see how far these clowns can burn everything down and how quickly they can pull it off. Fuck’em all.
  4. They have been two straight up Mando episodes with a hint of Boba thrown in one of them, lol. And as Kyle mentioned, the 2nd most interesting thing in this episode was: ...which are more in the Mando universe than Boba. I guess we should just be happy they've nailed the Mando character, which has been great.
  5. So, that last Book of Boba Fett episode..
  6. Yeah this one might get pretty ugly and have some lasting impacts in the league
  7. And if Rodgers is really done with GB.....I actually do think the Bears could be a player for the NFC North in 2022 with a big offseason. An offseason that could still include trading someone like Mack, but also adding some legit OL and WR help like you mentioned. Poles has a lot of work to do and I think the Bears situation is closer to a rebuild than retool.....but it could be done with a very well-executed off-season.
  8. Totally get it, and I think a lot of people will feel the same way.
  9. You're missing the point. Stop reading internet comments. Stop listening to the meatballs The Score puts on. You know how they say "NEVER read the YouTube comments?" The same goes for Facebook. And I'll bet you good money if you go to some stupid Chiefs Facebook Fan page today, you'll have a bunch of Chief fans saying everyone is overrated on their team, they stink, blah blah blah. You actually say in your post that you've been going after meatballs for years trying to get them to stop and think. The jokes on you for spending years trying to change the habits of a bunch of idiots. They won't ever change, it's how they'll always be. I don't think I'm a meatball fan. There are times I have meatball emotional takes (like when Grayson Allen decides to a cock for the 97th time in his career) but for the most part I think I'm a fairly level-headed fan. Why should I give the Bears the benefit of the doubt? Not Poles and Flus, but the Bears as a total organization. What actual evidence do I have that would tell me George and Ted got it right this time? Like anything in life, you need to earn that trust. And the Bears organization has done NOTHING to earn the trust of the fanbase. Only hurt it. So until I see real change happen on the field, I'm going to be skeptical of what they do as an organization. Doesn't mean I'm rooting against them, doesn't mean I want them to fail, and it doesn't mean I think Poles/Flus are bad hires. But if I'm asked to give my opinion on the subject, I don't know how I couldn't be skeptical. I know next to nothing about Poles or Flus. I'm not going to pretend I have followed them and really know their backgrounds. No idea. But what I have followed is the track record of executives and coaches George has brought into this organization since he took over......and it doesn't inspire a lot of hope.
  10. No, that’s kind of the point. You would pay like $20 a month for access to NBCSports Chicago via their app on your connected devices. You would sign up with a new log in/password.
  11. I didn’t say any of that. When I talk about not giving them the benefit of the doubt, it means I’m not going to be overly excited or hopeful based on any moves they make in the very near future. I’ll be interested in seeing what they do and I want them to be successful…but as we sit here today I have no indication that will happen. Let’s say I work at a company where I’m No. 3 in the organization. They have been hunting for a No. 2 for years and the people the No. 1 keeps bringing in bad people for that role. It’s making my life harder because I report to No. 2. After years of bad hires, I can hope No. 1 finally hires the right person, but I’d have serious doubts after the first handful were awful hires. I have no idea how these guys are going to work out. History tells me probably not well, but I simply don’t know. I really hope it does work. I won’t blame anyone who has their doubts.
  12. I mean, at this point you're arguing things that happen in every field, with almost every topic. If the Bears hired Harbaugh, there would be a bunch of Ohio State/Bears fans upset with the hire, calling him overrated. If they hired Peyton as head of football ops, there would be people saying "What does he know, you just hired a name, is there any proof he can run a team?" Those people will ALWAYS exist, with EVERY franchise. If you can't get past that, that's on you. Those fans exist with the Cubs, Sox, Bulls, Steelers, Red Wings, Lakers, etc. Meatballs exist in all 50 states. If you're upset over the meatballs, you're never going to be happy, because they'll never change. Now, you bring up the Bengals. When Zac Taylor was hired, I'm sure the Bengals fan base wasn't ecstatic with the hire across the board. They were probably all pleased to be done with Marvin Lewis, but I'm sure Zac Taylor didn't blow anyone's doors off when he was initially hired. Additionally, he was 6-25-1 as Bengals HC coming into 2021, for a franchise that hadn't won a playoff game 1991. The point is, the Bears haven't won a playoff game since George McCaskey took over. Fans have seen multiple cycles of new coaches/GM's being brought in, and the same results follow. What you're asking for are fans to give the Bears the benefit of the doubt. In my opinion, they simply don't deserve that at this point. It doesn't mean Poles/Fus are going to be failures, and every Bears fan is hoping they lead them to a Super Bowl. But I don't feel you can get upset with fans that simply don't believe in the George McCaskey lead Bears. They have given fans no indication they know how to run a successful football team. And I don't think it's unrealistic or unfair to say "After Trestman/Emery and Nagy/Pace, I'm going to take the believe it when I see it approach rather than automatically thinking they got it right with this duo."
  13. 1. I don't think it was a "bad" press conference but it was just full of hyperbole and I didn't feel like I learned anything about them. I wanted more but I don't remember a single word for the Nagy or Pace presser. If they win, no one will care. All comes down to results like always. 2. Because the results have been so bad, for so long, how can you blame anyone for being more negative toward the Bears than positive? On Jan 31, 2022....we simply can't know if Poles/Fus will work. All we have to go off of is the past history of the Bears under George. Going off of that......can you not understand why people would be pessimistic? They 100% have to prove it to fans to get the benefit of the doubt.
  14. I didn't even see you posted this, ron, lol. As soon as I saw what bmags said, I just went to Twitter to find the audio clip lol.
  15. So @bmags, @Chisoxfn, while he isn't a veteran voice, bringing in someone like this, another voice in the room for Poles to go to....I really endorse/like. Even them adding someone with a different title than has been in the building before is a step in the right direction, to me.
  16. Yeah, I’ve been fairly disappointed with the series but I guess it’s not super surprising. I think what happened is Boba was supposed to be what The Mandalorian show was….then they decided they maybe wanted some more creative freedoms so they went in a slightly different direction and made this new character. It worked really well and they said “Lets bring Boba back and sell a bunch of more merchandise!” But all the character traits of Mando should have gone to Boba. But they couldn’t have him be the exact same character as Mando, so they had to make Boba different…and he kinda stinks. The scene two weeks ago when he was chasing around that little robot…come on. They make him out to be this soft, almost goofball at times and I just don’t think it works. The Mando episode was by far the best episode of the series and Boba didn’t make an appearance. That’s trouble.
  17. Based on this reply, I really don’t think this arrangement is going to work out. Not sure you’ll fit our “corporate culture” so to speak. But I was really looking forward to our interview. Please let us know if you’d like to re-consider your stance.
  18. I am the interview committee.
  19. You're in luck, it's been decided I'll be the one reviewing your application. Please let me know when you'd like to schedule the first interview. Late night/early morning works best for my schedule. Looking forward to it. Come prepared.
  20. Given that we know the backgrounds of Ted and George....this should actually give Bears fans some hope?
