I always like the expression “If you hate something too much you become it” It’s like he hates people who “whine and complain” so much that’s all he does now.

Looks to me like he’s content with hard contact now as opposed to trying to lift the ball for extra bases, and that fine. He still hitting the ball hard most times, and once he gets a higher comfort level I expect he’ll be more aggressive in terms of doing damage.

I don’t give a shit what happened. There’s have been a handful, at most, of changes to the rulebook since he last retired. Either wake up or go sleep in your car while the grown ups work.

We fired a guy who was outstanding in the clubhouse and bad on the diamond. The expectations was that we needed a better tactician. Only a fool thinks that has gone well.

How did ol’ JR go about getting his shiny new stadium? It’s the envy of the league, too. As for the game, look...Sox didn’t hit. But regardless, they were in the game. It was 0-0, if you recall. These are the games where a manager earns their money in terms of being chess players. Any dummy can manage a 9-0 game. He botched it. Period.

I’m guessing the double negative at the beginning was an accident? Although if it was on purpose I’d agree with him. It’s possible he doesn’t think spending money is a smart investment simply because they’ve...made poor investments? I guess none of it really matters, as he has the ultimate say. I just personally disagree that his approach is the best at cultivating a strong fanbase/revenues.

Agreed profits are the goal, but it isn’t as though profits and winning are mutually exclusive. If the decision to hire La Russa for personal reasons damages the direction of the franchise, that’s obviously not good for anybody.

McRae was sent to Charlotte with no corresponding move announced. Didn’t know where to put this as it doesn’t merit its own thread, but could conceivably be Goodwin if he’s added to the 40 man. Probably means Crochet is good to go, though.
