  1. Did you mean someone other than Puk? He was a college guy and isn’t a star - not to say he doesn’t have the chance to be. I think they go with a college guy. Seems to be their general preference and would fit better with the timeline of the next wave of talent.
  2. Sure, I just think the hope is he can be a primary contributor rather than a secondary guy/fringe regular.
  3. Different profiles. Rutherford isn’t going to steal 59 bases out of the leadoff spot.
  4. I’m skeptical too. Still hitting a ton of grounders, and as you mentioned the BABIP is unsustainable. On the positive side, today is his 21st birthday. He still has time on his side.
  5. He has to be kidding. Right? Even the qualifications you listed MIGHT get you considered for a Scouting Coordinator position at the absolutely most, and that’s a stretch unless a person has somehow already gone to scout school in the AFL.
  6. I do t think Soria getting saves changes his trade value. Any contender wouldn’t be looking to use him as a closer, and people already know he’s closed before. Ideally, I’d used him in a flexible set-up role against the weaker spots of lineups to help artificially pad his stats a little bit. But that would be a tough sell to Renteria and the coaching staff.
  7. Yeah I don’t see the Goins thing either. The guy that comes to mind for me is Eckstein. A 5’7” R/R high contact 2B whose arm is stretched out at SS, but makes it work. Even then, Madrigal is his own guy. He’s more athletic, toolsy.
  8. I’d be OK with Bohm, but it would be nice to get a guy without uncertainty about their defense. The FG guys seems to be satisfied with him being decent at 3B, but it seems like everyone else is less convinced.
  9. This is very encouraging, as others mentioned especially with Hansen.
  10. He’s referring to this from the article. “Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez and Carson Fulmer are in the biggest tryouts of their lives, because Michael Kopech and Dane Dunning and Dylan Cease are on their way, and so long as his arm holds up, Alec Hansen is on the come.” I don’t know if that can be considered expecting the worst, But that’s the quote.
  11. Yeah that could be. Either way, not a big deal. I just would have liked to see him get the triple one AB after the scorer took his away.
  12. It doesn’t matter they had to tag up. You make your way to second base. It was 2nd and 3rd.
  13. Yeah, kinda funny because he could have got his triple back had he run it out.
  14. He’s been giving that pitch all game. Hector has benefitted a lot from it.
  15. Kennedy has a history of blatantly hitting batters. On a few occasions up around the head. So I wouldn’t be too surprised, although I’m not expecting it.
  16. Just draft the best guy available and worry about where they fit if/when the time comes. No need to complicate it.
  17. The contact by Yolmer and Abreu bodes well for second time through the order.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2018 -> 10:42 PM) Omar just had an incredibly lazy frame attempt I noticed that too. Pitch number 3.
  19. Pretty sure the guy in black behind home plate on the left of the screen is Jim Jefferies.
