  1. There’s the walk. I was getting worried there. We have a reputation to uphold.
  2. That’s too bad. He needed the at bats. Looking like his best case scenario is as a 27 year old rookie.
  3. QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 17, 2018 -> 01:57 PM) Man alive. So many hot takes.
  4. He’s swinging at too many bad pitches. That was my best guess and the numbers back it up (50% O-Swing). Whether that’s an issue of pitch recognition or him pressing too hard, I couldn’t tell you.
  5. I think they’ll keep plugging him out there until Tilson is ready. Tilson’s shown some signs of getting back on track. It’s understandable he started slow.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 10:56 PM) Sosa special Sosa would have done a little skip like he just won the World Series
  7. That’s just flat out embarrassing.
  8. It looks to me like Lopez really telegraphs that changeup. He slows his arm down a lot.
  9. QUOTE (Lillian @ Apr 15, 2018 -> 08:41 AM) Can someone explain how MLB Pipeline translates the following ratings, for Johnson, into an overall 45 rating?: Fastball: 65 | Slider: 55 | Changeup: 45 | Control: 50 | Overall: 45 The only way that makes any sense is if the Control Factor is very heavily weighted. There’s a few guys you’ll see like that. Ian Clarkin comes to mind. In his case I’m thinking they took his health into consideration. For Johnson I would guess it’s being a RP.
  10. Honestly, I think he’s a little pull-happy and he’s pressing too hard....they probably feed off each other. One bright side of this weekend series possibly not happening is he can hopefully clear his head.
  11. QUOTE (Tannerfan @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 02:44 PM) The lesson I learned was don’t rush a player to the majors who isn’t ready. Both can be true.
  12. QUOTE (Tannerfan @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 03:32 PM) Having read the Sun-Times article, if he turns it around I will really be impressed with Renteria for having a meeting with Moncada after last nights game. If he doesn’t turn it around he should be sent to AAA to try and get right. The ghost of Gordon Beckham and everything he was supposed to be hangs over Moncada whether we like it or not. Hahn has said the next phase is player development. A twenty two year old who is having at bats as bad as Moncada’s should not be on the major league roster. We may ruin him like we ruined Beckham. Not to mention Avasil Garcia who also was forced onto the major league roster several years ago when it was plain he needed more minor league seasoning. I agree with the Moncada advocates who stress patience but that patience should be learning in Charlotte. The lesson I learned from Gordon Beckham is to not judge a player based on their first 400-450 at bats. Moncada hasn’t even reached that mark yet.
  13. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 12:37 PM) Jack, I like you bro, but this viewpoint is insanity. Yeah. Absurd.
  14. QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 11:13 AM) hahaaaaa...best thread of the spring. Hands down.
  15. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 07:17 AM) I guess I view any time spent with Cooper to be valuable, so I’d much rather roll the dice on guys with big stuff but poor command or developing secondary offerings that have a chance of filling a long-term role in the bullpen. He isn’t some up-and-coming, developing guy. He’s filler. Every team needs guys like him, but any time he spends with Cooper is time taken away from guys who may be part of the team’s future.
  16. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 11:14 PM) in like 3 games but sure Well, 5 games. He has five less AB’s than Engel, who’s been “better” on a bigger stage. But I see your point. Still, I doubt they’re going to bring him up while sending Infante down. Wouldn’t make much sense in terms of the roster, and he has been bad - SSS or not. I like Cordell, but the timing would be odd to say the least.
  17. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 09:45 PM) Maybe its Cordell to take over CF? Doubt it though He’s REALLY struggling
  18. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 03:11 PM) Even as a FA this winter, Rondon could be worth a top 10-15 prospect if he keeps this up He isn’t a free agent this winter, won’t be worth anything close to that.
  19. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 03:41 PM) I missed it what happened? Moncada pulled his bunt back on a suicide squeeze. Narvaez hung out to dry. Then he of course struck out.
  20. I expected them to lose a lot of games, but it’s possible to lose and still be entertaining, if that makes any sense. This has been hard to watch.
  21. QUOTE (GenericUserName @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 08:05 AM) Full draft top 125 from 2080 baseball. They have an interesting take on Turang. Also there seems to be some consensus forming on the top tier. Noticed they have Bohm listed as a 1B.
  22. Poor Rays. Tried so hard to blow the save and couldn’t pull it off.
  23. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 06:21 PM) Sox lost this game because of fundamentals yet again. An infielder "trying" to play the outfield (first inning "hit") and a passed ball. Little things add up. Had nothing to do with scoring zero runs.
  24. I know he has no power, but I think Narvaez is clearly the better choice. Left handed, competent receiver, and almost always puts together a good at bat.
