  1. I wouldn’t complain if they traded for Rice, but they might as well give Elko a chance too since he’s already in the organization.
  2. I believe so. If Boston was going to DFA this guy, then yeah giving up a prospect looks bad when they could have just claimed him eventually. But perhaps other teams inquired on him too. He doesn’t have much of a track record but cheap and controllable lefty relievers with good stuff aren’t easy to find.
  3. It’s ridiculous but the only silver lining is that they actually can hopefully get the #1 pick this time by being that bad again. But knowing this team, they will probably get screwed in the lottery.
  4. I think it’s more of a 40-man roster crunch on Boston’s part than Booser not being good. They probably want to make more additions and need spots on the 40.
  5. Saw he quit baseball entirely for a bit and then played in the independent leagues. Cool story. Hope he carves out a role here.
  6. At least this Booser guy has a lot of team control. Perhaps he’s just a late bloomer.
  7. I didn’t have trading for a 32 year old reliever on my bingo card this offseason.
  8. This is basically my logic. Tucker > Robert obviously but the years of control are a big factor here. They also have a big need in the outfield. Just wish they had a better system.
  9. I wrote this, thanks for sharing. It’s a tough situation because I feel Robert is a really good fit for Houston given their outfield right now, but their farm is just so bad. Smith is a non-negotiable for me. I was debating between Melton and Brice Matthews as the second piece. I went Melton because he is a left handed hitting outfielder. Astros fans replied to me and said it’s too much to give up. I figured that would be their reply. They absolutely need to do something about their outfield though. It’s atrocious.
  10. We are so overdue for something to go our way. This would change everything.
  11. The way it’s worded, it sounds like White Sox to me. But perhaps I’m delusional.
  12. He would walk after 2025 anyway. Fine with me.
  13. That is not enough if both Crochet and Robert are headed out.
  14. I’ve seen people say Mayer is like Moncada with the injury issues. Not sure how true that is.
  15. That’s not necessarily true. Dominguez has significantly more control and is a lot cheaper. That said I’d rather keep Robert for now.
  16. I feel like Red Sox fans have actually been reasonable regarding Crochet’s value, at least on Twitter. Mets fans are the ones living in a delusional fantasyland thinking they can get him for a bunch of filler prospects.
  17. Appreciate it. I know there’s a decent sized contingent of Sox fans who don’t like me but I just do my thing and want to see the team become successful again like everyone else here.
  18. Think I started here and then went to Twitter after. I still lurk here from time to time, especially in the offseason. Good way to read through rumors all in one place.
  19. I just don’t understand what they have against him. There must be something going on behind the scenes with him because I feel he is more talented and has more upside than either Fletcher or DeLoach.
