Apparently the Sox aren't willing to go over 300 million or include opt-outs in their offers. If those things are true, they have no chance at Harper. But I'm hoping the backlash from missing on Machado will cause them to change their minds.
Looking at the left side of the Padres infield for the next 5 years will be a great daily reminder of the massive failure of an organization we root for. Wonderful.
I don't think this rebuild will work out the way we all envisioned it would if this is how the front office will operate. I'm not trying to be a downer, I'm just being honest.
I don't know why WSD and several others are angry at Machado. I would have done the same thing if I were in his position. We all need to be pissed at Reinsdorf, this is his fault.
I bet this exact situation will happen with Arenado or Rendon next offseason. Hahn will convince everyone that they have a shot only to fall apart at the last second yet again.
I have a small sliver of hope that the Sox will go all-in on Harper to save face from this disaster but that probably won't happen with the buffoons running things for the Sox.
I missed like 30 pages and I'm not going to go back and read them, but do you guys think the Sox have any shot at Harper? Getting him is the only way I would feel better.
Hector is legit I think, but 99% of the random tweets that are posted in this thread are a load of crap written by people looking for their 15 minutes of fame if they somehow get it right.
