Wouldn't the Dodgers have to clear salaries in order to avoid the luxury tax if they wanted Harper? I don't think they have done that as of now.

Bour was a minor signing. Harper will be given the biggest contract in baseball history. I find it hard to believe that this guy would know about it before everyone else.

If anything, I think this move is a good thing. It shows that they believe in Collins to stick at catcher long term. That is way more important than freaking out about one year of James McCann as the backup catcher.
