  1. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 08:28 AM) lol . If I had a dollar for every time I saw misuse of they're, their and there I'd be rich. It's so easy to understand the usage of each one but I constantly see them misused . Also " your" and "you're" and, this one is the worst ;" would of ", "could of " , and " should of " for would've , could've and should've . These are some of my biggest pet peeves. People are absolute morons. It's not that hard to get it right and yet very few people do.
  2. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 08:45 AM) I always just use commas and periods everywhere. Even in text messages. I don't like to appear uneducated. I feel like I'm too formal on apps like Twitter. But it's easier for me just to type like I always do instead of trying to act cool.
  3. This guy is such a moron. Holocaust centers? Seriously?
  4. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 07:55 AM) Haha, it seems formal for a message board Does it bother you that much? It bothers me greatly. I develop a rash whenever I read your posts...not because of the content, but because of the lack of punctuation.
  5. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 12:07 PM) Every game he has played this year has been at 3B. Thought I remembered him playing outfield in Spring Training. Could be wrong.
  6. Can Delmonico play third base? I thought he was just an outfielder now.
  7. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 11:13 AM) I want to say that it is for the extra year of service. Anyone else think the Sox will be aggressive in trying to sign him to an extension very early (let's say by next season) trying to buy-out a few years of free agency? I have no doubt the Sox want to sign him to an extension like they did with Anderson but I don't know if Moncada would do that. He'd probably want to test free agency when he's 28 or 29.
  8. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 10:56 AM) Kris Bryant is coming to my workplace in an hour to do a promotional batting practice thing. When will this every day nightmare end Get his autograph and then sell it.
  9. I'm curious in knowing when Asche's number retirement and statue unveiling will be.
  10. QUOTE (Yoda @ Apr 10, 2017 -> 07:42 AM) Will you guys be friends at least? A couple of years ago I was head over heels with this girl who was not looking for a relationship so we ended up just being friends. Went to a couple of Sox games, concerts, and all that but remained just friends. Fast forward to today and I'm living a happy life with my gf (whom I met online a little less than 2 years ago) and our 4 month old baby and let me tell you, things do happen for a reason. I wouldn't have it any other way. Wife her up.
  11. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 10:08 AM) Why is Cody Asche on the roster? 1. They need to fill an MLB roster without rushing guys to the majors. 2. Guys in minors need seasoning. 3. Service time on younger guys in minors. 4. He was once a top prospect so why not. 5. He probably won't be on this team come June. I love you.
  12. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 10:00 AM) Hinted towards them being clearly in the mix while not really mentioning the player by name Thanks. I saw Dave mention it but I didn't think there was any way he'd give a definite answer.
  13. I don't have time to listen to this right now. Would anyone be kind enough to tell me if Hahn said anything about Robert?
  14. I will go into the fetal position and cry for a month if Glasnow is the headliner in a Quintana trade.
  15. QUOTE (BaseballNick @ Apr 10, 2017 -> 12:25 PM) 9K 0BB through 4.0IP for Cooper on just 51 pitches so far. Do you think he'll be a Major Leaguer at some point?
  16. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 10, 2017 -> 10:11 AM) The people who are in on the "campaign" have mentioned the fact it's more of the idea of getting a high pick than actually getting Seth Beer. I'm not sure why the people who don't want to tank have to come in here and s*** all over the idea. You're obviously entitled to your opinion but so are the people who want to lose to get a higher pick. This is pretty much how I feel as well. I personally really like Beer and think he has superstar potential, but to me, it's more about getting the super high draft pick. Getting Beer would be nice, but I'm not going to cry if it doesn't work out either. The Sox should be in the position to get a stud in 2018 whether it's Beer or someone else.
  17. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 10, 2017 -> 09:39 AM) Done. How much? If the mods/admins are cool with it, then I'm definitely down for a friendly wager.
  18. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 10, 2017 -> 09:37 AM) Could happen. I wouldn't be making the same bet with other people if I were you though. You need to go study up on draft history and how teams think before making blanket statements. If Seth Beer were named Eric Martin, there wouldn't be Sox fans wanting to tank for him. There's a chance that the Sox get a better player at #11 this year than Beer will even end up being but nobody is talking about the 2017 draft due to a catchy hashtag. I said as of today. Of course things change. The 2018 draft isn't for another year + a couple months. But like I said, I don't think there's any reason why Beer wouldn't be a top 15 pick in 2018 as of today.
  19. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 10, 2017 -> 09:19 AM) At Soxfest, Hostetler said that they have reports about Beer going all the way back to when he was 14 years old. They weren't scouting him then. At this point, Beer looks like a mid-late 1st round pick in the 2018 draft. He still has a full college season after this one. This isn't even like the 5th most important topic that pertains to the Sox right now. I would bet any amount of money that Beer would be a top 15 pick in the 2018 draft as of today.
  20. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 10, 2017 -> 09:22 AM) Rooker isn't even on top 100 draft prospect lists. I reached out to Callis, Crawford, and Manuel about it this weekend. They all were in agreement that he'll move up because teams love college bats but it won't be some meteoric rise to the level of Andrew Benintendi. Rooker could be a 1st rounder. Probably won't be a top half of the draft guy though. Maybe the Sox can get him in the 2nd round then.
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 10, 2017 -> 09:16 AM) If they are scouting 14 year olds, no wonder they have drafted so poorly. It's a total waste of scouting resources. He was in 7th grade. Why scout guys 5 to 7 years away from being drafted? So much changes. Your scouting report as a 14 year old becomes totally irrelevant. I really have no idea how to answer your question. I would assume that scouting 14 year olds isn't the norm, but Beer was probably so good then that the Sox showed very early interest in him.
  22. There's been a lot of buzz lately about Mississippi State's Brent Rooker lately. Admittedly I don't know a ton about him but his stats are eye-popping. I hope the Sox are considering him at pick #11.
  23. I read somewhere that the Sox have been scouting Beer since has was 14 years old. How high will he be drafted? I really don't know. I do know that the Sox should and would consider him if he's still on the board at their pick in the 2018 draft.
  24. QUOTE (AJUribe @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 11:45 PM) I've heard whispers he may be available by the trade deadline. From my sources losing the first two starts have tempered interests in a few possibly contending team. Teams that were interested do want to acquire the southpaw from southern hemisphere and are now quietly rooting for the young man to have an inflated era in the hopes they can somehow get a better deal. Basically Q is going to be awful for us because it is simply impossible for him to care when he knows he's getting traded and it completely effects his entire psyche. Hahn's a ballbreaker and l think he'd rather sit on Q before taking a penny less than his preseason asking price. Okay...
