  1. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 9, 2017 -> 12:35 PM) Sears is saying that the Sox are close to a deal with recently DFA'd Byung Ho Park even though he has to clear waivers first. Lets see if he gets lucky again. Maybe they'll claim him. I wouldn't be opposed to it.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 9, 2017 -> 12:07 PM) I am stunned at the lack of activity with the White Sox. I am glad they aren't settling, but I highly doubt the offseason rebuild plan was trade Sale and Eaton for some prospects, get a couple of guys off waivers, sign Geo Soto, call it an offseason. That's pretty much it. I thought they at least would have made another trade or two , even minor, and would have signed some more intriguing Spring Training invites. Agreed. It has been a really long and boring offseason. It would have been even worse if the Sox didn't make those blockbusters at the Winter Meetings.
  3. Assuming Robertson is not traded before the season starts: My predictions - 2-4, 2.67 ERA, 82 K's, 1.08 WHIP, 10.2 K/9, 26 holds, and 2.3 WAR in 72 appearances If Robertson is traded before the season: My predictions - 3-5, 2.95 ERA, 89 K's, 1.13 WHIP, 9.8 K/9, 29 saves, and 2.8 WAR in 78 appearances
  4. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Feb 9, 2017 -> 09:36 AM) Your predictions don't jive... I will go 78-84, assuming Q or any other major piece isn't moved before the season. Optimistic for sure, but I don't think this team is anywhere near as bad as most everyone here wants them to be. How does it not jive? How do you expect the Sox to have the exact same record as last year when Sale was replaced by Derek Holland and Eaton with Avi Garcia?
  5. Good thing Frazier doesn't apply just in case he stays for the entire 2017 season. There is absolutely no reason to not trade Melky and Robertson at some point before next offseason now.
  6. 3 1/2 hours and 4 1/2 hours aren't the same thing...so I'm not sure what your point is.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 9, 2017 -> 08:09 AM) I don't need a Yankee Red Sox game that lasts 4 1/2 hours because Pedroia wants to readjust his gloves between every pitch. It isn't fine the way it is, it needs tweaking I don't know what games you're watching on a regular basis but most games aren't 4 1/2 hours.
  8. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Feb 9, 2017 -> 08:13 AM) This is why we are done trading. Add another arm, get Moncada to go north from ST and we can compete for a wildcard. Hurry and get a bet down because Vegas odds will soon reflect our optimism. They're not competing for a wild card in 2017. C'mon now.
  9. I don't understand why they need to speed up the game at all. It's fine the way it is. If people have short attention spans, then don't watch the game. No need to ruin it for everyone else.
  10. Kristaps Porzingis is a generational talent? That might be a bit of a stretch.
  11. If Q is traded before the season? 64-98 If Q is traded at the deadline? 68-94
  12. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 8, 2017 -> 01:53 PM) They don't have the pieces to get Jahlil Okafor. Why? The Pelicans gave the Sixers a journeyman center and a pick. The Bulls could've easily done that.
  13. I was listening to the radio today and they were vehemently against the Bears trading for Jimmy G. I'd tend to agree. I think it'd be better if they drafted a QB instead of paying a premium for a 1 year rental (unless they tag/extend him).
  14. Really wish the Bulls would've made a trade for Jahlil Okafor. I love his potential.
  15. I'm excited to see the responses to this one. I really hope Giolito can progress this year, but I hope he's up by June at the very earliest. Not sure if he'll be on an innings limit but that could play a factor as well. My predictions - 4-6, 4.28 ERA, 88 K's, 1.32 WHIP, 8.6 K/9, and 1.8 WAR in 15 starts
  16. I actually do like the idea of getting Koda Glover back in a deal. He's strictly a reliever but that's not necessarily a bad thing. His MILB stats are very impressive.
  17. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 8, 2017 -> 12:55 PM) Red Sox sign Carlos Quentin. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/02/red-...os-quentin.html Wtf lol lmao that's strange. Probably just Spring Training depth but I didn't see him as a fit there.
  18. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 8, 2017 -> 11:31 AM) This is true. And if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. What if your uncle didn't have balls?
  19. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 8, 2017 -> 11:10 AM) Maybe they end up dealing Tanaka if he is doing good for prospects at the deadline to have more depth for a Q trade? Based on their trades last season, it seems like they're into that. I don't think it's impossible for them to have interest, I just don't see it until around mid-season. You mean so they could trade for Q and have control of him for several years and then resign Tanaka after the season is over? That's a good idea for them.
  20. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 8, 2017 -> 10:19 AM) I wouldn't give that up if I were the Yankees. Why? Their rotation is absolutely horrific and they have no shot at winning anything right now.
  21. Yankees fans are f***ing morons. They're arguing with me that giving up Frazier and Rutherford for Q is too much.
  22. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 8, 2017 -> 09:10 AM) Agreed. Personally, I don't need Musgrove if it makes the rest of the package weaker on the position player side. This. It makes no sense to insist on Musgrove if the package would be better without his inclusion.
