Chris Sale is a future Hall of Famer.

I saw a Cubs fan on Twitter yesterday say David Ross is a Hall of Famer. It was unbelievable.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 19, 2017 -> 11:46 AM) If the Sox have the number one pick in 2019 the rebuild is NOT going well. Three of the Sox top three/four prospects they acquired all have ETAs of 2017 in Moncada/Giolito/Lopez. They have three first rounders from the last draft that would all be on a list for the top ten draftees from 2016 to make the MLB. All of these guys with the exception of maybe Dunning/Collins, barring trouble, will be on the 2018 team. I hope they finish at the bottom of the league this year because all the org filler sucks, get a near A grade prospect (perhaps Beer is an A) and then I hope they're decent in 2018 because of all the young talent succeeding and then they're positioned to spend some and be a playoff team in 2019. If they somehow lucked into Beer he'd probably make it to the big leagues in 2019. Frankly, any 2018 outcome can be spinned into being a positive. You either get one more year of a big draft pool and high selection or you're moving towards contention. Well said. To be honest, I hope they flat out suck in 2017 to possibly get Beer, but I'd like to see some progression in 2018. I'm not expecting a playoff berth or anything, but to have positive contributions by the guys you listed in a couple years would be nice.

Paulie is one of my all time favorites, but no, I don't think he's a Hall of Famer. With that being said, he's definitely one of the best Sox players to ever live and will always be remembered for what he did for the team.

Teams have upped their offers in Q derby in the last week

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 19, 2017 -> 11:00 AM) He had the Marlins at 29 with Arizona 30. Miami would clearly be #30 right now after this trade. Angels are the worst. Detroit is up there too. -
Not a Typical Rebuild According to White Sox

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 18, 2017 -> 07:29 PM) Sometime in June. You think it'll be that quick? I know they'll wait a bit to get the extra year of control, but he was drafted just a little while ago. I'm interested in knowing his ETA because of my fantasy league -

Somewhat related to this thread, but when do you guys expect Burdi to be in Chicago? -

QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Jan 18, 2017 -> 04:53 PM) No one cares about the W-L stat for pitchers, but the rest I agree with. While I feel the same way as you, this is simply not true. There will always be someone who faults a pitcher because their win/loss record. -

QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 09:16 PM) The only reason Hahn hasn't been burned by refusing to back off what are surely ridiculous demands is because there are no other options out there. Trust me, if Houston or Pittsburgh could find a good lefty elsewhere they would've done that by now. They know they need to shore up their rotations if they want to seriously compete this year and they need to go after Q unless they are willing to deal with an even more ridiculously stubborn Rays front office. It was fine that Hahn started with a really high ask for Quintana but now its time to back off a little and meet these teams halfway. I dont understand the enthusiasm for waiting. That above dynamic that has bailed Hahn out will be gone soon, I really dont know what else to say to those who refuse to believe that. How long have you guys followed baseball? Have you ever seen a pitching market as barren as this one? It wont last, and if you think it will you are letting stubborness cloud your judgment. I agree. By no means should Hahn trade Q for anything less than he's worth, but I think it's time to stop asking for Meadows, Bell, and Glasnow (just a theoretical example) and meet somewhere in the middle with one of these interested teams. I really don't see any positive coming out of Q staying on this team after Spring Training starts. -

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 04:04 PM) Awe hell, let's just skip Martes and make the package Tucker, Reed, Fisher and Stubbs. Doubt Houston would do that but I would. I'd do this if Laureano was included. 5 high upside hitters for Q? I'll take that all day. -
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 02:07 PM) If we're going to hate on talented, cocky, young kids then this rebuild is really going to be tough. This. Not sure why some of you guys are hating on him. I don't care if he thinks he's a badass if the results are there. The sky is the limit for him as far as potential goes.

QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 03:51 PM) The 2012 draft is frustrating in retrospect because players like giolito, wacha, seager and stroganoff were all selected shortly after Hawkins Stroganoff hahahahaha

QUOTE (OklahomaBrave @ Jan 15, 2017 -> 11:50 PM) Just find it strange Levine and other just keep referencing the nameless "others" involved. Can't imagine who they would Be other than Rockies or Braves. I'm also very ready for something to happen, I've been reading Whitesox stuff way more than is normal for a Braves fan. Are you on any Braves forums that are similar to this one? I'd be curious in knowing what their fans think about these Quintana rumors. -

QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Jan 15, 2017 -> 08:27 PM) An admittedly crazy thought crossed my mind after reading that several teams may now have upped their offers. If Hahn really likes these supposedly increased Offers, perhaps he might consider dealing Q to one team and Rodon to another. That might really move the timetable for the rebuild forward. We give up half of our remaining rotation, but that could be a major haul of prospects, one like we have never seen before in such a short time period. OK, I know I have really lost my mind now, so back to watching football. I see absolutely no reason to move Rodon right now. They'd be selling low on him. Even a year from now might be a more appropriate time to move him if he has a nice season in 2017. I think 2019 or 2020 is a more likely time to trade him if the Sox are going to do so. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 15, 2017 -> 05:43 PM) That's a .747 OPS. Todd Frazier put up a .766 OPS last year at 3b while being a poor baserunner and fielder. If Saladino puts up those kind of numbers at 3b or 2b, that's a path towards a 4 WAR season unless he only plays 2/3 of the season. If he hits 11 HR in 2/3 of a season that's one impressive power surge for him. Saladino had a .725 OPS with 8 homers, 11 SB's, and a 1.8 WAR last year in just 93 games. I think my prediction is realistic, especially if he plays a full season while being entirely healthy.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jan 15, 2017 -> 05:33 PM) Really? What position? I don't know, 3B maybe. It's still possible that Frazier is traded. Lawrie could be gone too.
