  1. QUOTE (ChicagoHeel @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 02:02 PM) Byron Kerr ‏@masnKerr #Nats and #WhiteSox dialogue continues regarding Robertson Is that guy reputable?
  2. QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 12:14 PM) Ken RosenthalVerified account ‏@Ken_Rosenthal Sources: #Dodgers close on both Turner AND Jansen. link That sucks for us...
  3. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 11:25 AM) Yah, Colorado makes the most sense on paper. Tons of guys I like there. Seems they may be easier to fleece than the Astros who appear to be going at this thing conservatively. Rodgers, Tapia, McMahon, and a lottery ticket arm. Get it done, Rick Hahn.
  4. Q to Colorado is what I'm hoping for, though I haven't seen anything that suggested that the teams are seriously talking.
  5. QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Dec 11, 2016 -> 01:51 PM) What does TOR mean? I've read it a lot too and can't put it together? Top of rotation. As in a top of the rotation starting pitcher like Sale or Quintana.
  6. From Keith Law Chat Mike: Astros have to make a deal for Quintana at this point no? Assuming the rays aren't trading archer there isn't another option that keeps them on their current plan. Seems like the perfect scenario for Hahn to strike gold again. Law: It's the ideal fit if they can agree on a price. If I'm Hahn, I'm focused on the bigger prospects, but definitely hoping to snag AJ Reed in the deal too.
  7. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 9, 2016 -> 12:03 PM) This quote alone makes me think Abreu is staying. Gotta keep someone to have a few fans show up to the park every night.
  8. I look at it like this. Will the Sox suck next year? Yes. Will they suck the year after that? Probably. The year after? Maybe. But how is that any different than the past 8 years? It's been almost a decade since the Sox made the playoffs. I'm much more optimistic about the Sox now than I was 72 hours ago. The prospects might bust, but at least they tried something new and picked a direction. I can't fault them for that. I'd rather watch a 55 win team with young potential than the same 75 win team year after year that never gets any better because they constantly acquire old, declining talent..
  9. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 12:09 PM) #WhiteSox' David Robertson can block trades to: #Tigers, #Dodgers, #Mets, #Athletics, #Phillies. https://twitter.com/DevanFink/status/806914593507385344 The only one that might be an issue is LA and I don't know why he'd block a deal if he truly wants to win.
  10. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 10:42 AM) Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 30s31 seconds ago Dan Hayes Retweeted Mark Zuckerman Nats and #WhiteSox reportedly continuing to have more dialogue. More on trade interest in WSox relievers shortly. Yes, yes, yes! But we already cleaned out their system lmao. So who do they have left that the Sox would want? Severino? Stevenson? Turner?
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 09:55 AM) 3 years from beginning to end is insane. Even 5 years puts us at 2021. Why are you so pessimistic about this rebuild? This is the best thing the Sox could have done. They picked a direction instead of being the same 75 win team over and over again.
  12. Hypothetically though, if the Sox tank in 2017 and 2018 and take elite talents in the draft, I think they could easily be a Cubs like Dynasty in 2019 or 2020 if things pan out as they should.
  13. Guys...the Sox aren't a lock to pick #1 next year. Don't get your hopes up.
  14. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 09:29 AM) That's a good thing. #TankForBeer #BeerMe #BlowForBeer (Seth Beer, projected #1 2018 draft pick) Lmao these hashtags are awesome.
  15. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 09:14 AM) Not necessarily. Sox and Mariners talked Viciedo til late afternoon on the last day a few years ago. If only that deal would've happened...lol.
  16. Covey was pretty good in AA last year. Maybe the Sox see something in him that they can fix.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:03 PM) The two biggest chips are gone. We have one more major piece in Q, a solid piece in Jones, and then a whole lot of guys with zero to negative surplus value. You have one bite at the apple with the guys you have. After that, you are depending on the draft. But once you start actually examining the path, it isn't going to be as easy as everyone wants to believe. These deals are so incredibly vital as so many other doors won't be open to us. I think everyone was just so ready for a change, that any change will do. We aren't spending for a marquee free agent We aren't going crazy in Latin America We aren't going crazy in international free agency, even if we do, we will probably be outbid by someone with much deeper pockets. Jesus Christ you're unbearable tonight. Take a deep breath and log off.
  18. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 02:06 PM) Is something like this enough for Q: RHp Francis Martes, OF Kyle Tucker, 3B JD Davis, OF Jason Martin, LHP Reymin Guduan? Martes is #29 in baseball and their top prospect. Tucker is #50 overall. JD Davis is bat first 3B. Martin is tools flyer with big power in lower minors and Guduan is LH reliever that hits 100 with bad control. Replace Martin and Guduan with Reed and I'm in.
  19. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 02:04 PM) I think you guys are overestimating what the return may be for Eaton. I still think the Nats can do this without Turner. They could do it without Turner for just Eaton, but not for both Eaton and Q.
  20. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 02:01 PM) Watch the Sox use Nationals as leverage against the Cards lol for something like Reyes, Weaver, Kelly+ Getting Reyes would be f***ing amazing. I'd love Piscotty too but that ain't happening.
  21. Q to Houston is what I'm hoping for. I don't know about Eaton.
