SOURCE: 2 horse race between Dodgers and Astros
ChiSoxFanMike replied to Carpe Diem's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Would you guys prefer Bregman or Springer as the headliner? -
This guy is going to be a flat out stud in a few years if the Sox don't rush him. Hopefully he debuts in 2018 at the earliest.

Sox could try to attach Shields to Sale trade
ChiSoxFanMike replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Only the White Sox would take the most valuable asset on the market and severely hurt his appeal by wanting to attach a highly paid scrub along with him. LMAO. What a joke. -

This is ridiculous. I can't believe what I'm reading. -
I typically agree with raBBit on just about everything, but I'm not sure how anyone can think this is ok in any sense of the word. It's sickening and these guys need to be punished for it. Otherwise it'll be a chain reaction and it'll happen again.

An Insider Look into Actual Fictious Trade Talks

QUOTE (hi8is @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 10:38 AM) About 47 teams want him. Welcome to the prom, I'm the queen. Don't like how John Danks preformed last year and Kenny blames you. Gallo is going to be an annual 450 strike out risk. You'll have to do better than that. How about we give you Abreu for Mazara and Profar thou. Excuse me, my tent is being pitched. -Rick Hahn I'm the king, bro. It ain't my fault your scouts suck balls. Gallo is the best thing since sliced bread. The Sox haven't had a guy this powerful since Joe Borchard. Mazara, Gallo, Profar, Mendez, and Taveras for Sale. Just do it. Jon -
I'd personally keep Minaya. He didn't pitch a ton in September, but he looked pretty good when he got a chance.

An Insider Look into Actual Fictious Trade Talks
ChiSoxFanMike replied to hi8is's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Hey Ricky ol' pal ol' buddy, I know we're homies and all, but I want Sale. Would Mazara, Profar, and Gallo do the trick? Let me know. Thanks, Jon. -
QUOTE (peppers312 @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 10:17 AM) Because Fowler wants 4 years and Eaton is obviously already under control. Fowler would cost much more financially than Eaton, but much less in terms of prospects. The Jays aren't the Red Sox or Dodgers, they don't have tons of depth to trade from anyway. I don't think this is happening.

I'll take Jon Daniels. -
Not sure why Toronto would empty their already mediocre system for a guy like Eaton when they could just sign Fowler and give up 1 pick.

If Reddick is elite, then I am the sexiest man alive.

The Yankees could be interested in more than Sale
ChiSoxFanMike replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Donaldo @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 08:00 PM) Cashman just picked up several top prospects at the deadline. If he's willing to give up some of that talent for an aging headcase with questionable mechanics, that's fine by me. 27 years old is "aging"? LMAO. -
The Tommy John thing is complete BS. There's no reason why he's more prone to it than any other pitcher.

QUOTE (flavum @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 06:56 PM) I wonder if the Sox are just waiting for the Dodgers to say the right thing. When it comes to moving Sale, the NL West is the best landing spot from a PR standpoint. Trading to an AL team that they face every year, or an East team that gets more attention would hurt a little more. Don't get me wrong, they should just get the best deal, but would you rather see Sale in a Red Sox uniform, or Quintana? Me? I want Sale on the Dodgers hopefully eliminating the Cubs in a playoff game. I highly doubt the Sox care about any of this. They just want the best return possible.
-
I definitely think Houston is a much more likely landing spot for Chris now than they were just 24 hours ago.
-
Thanks everyone. I only have one game at this point (MLB The Show 2015), and I love it. I'm definitely going to try and pick up some other games as well.

How would you feel emotionally if/when Sale is traded?

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 04:08 PM) It will be stages of grief. It will be exciting at first, it could be disappointing at first, but sad will come last. Appreciate the hell out of what he's done and the .gifs of him with a wipeout slider hitting the batter while they swing for strike 3. But, we are where we are. I like this post. Of course I'll be sad once it happens, but the level of sadness depends on who the Sox get in return. If the Sox get Benintendi and several other good prospects? I'll only be a little upset. If the Sox don't get a blue chip prospect at all? I'll be very, very sad. -
QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 03:23 PM) I think this is basically the wet dream of the majority of us. Let's assume though that it simply isn't possible. Let's say you had to choose between these deals for Sale to the Red Sox and Q to the Dodgers: Sale to the Red Sox: 1) Benintendi/Devers or 2) Benintendi/Kopech/Groome/Swihart Q to the Doders: 1) DeLeon/Bellinger or 2) DeLeon/Barnes/Lux/Puig Which would you choose? The 2nd Red Sox deal and the 1st Dodgers one if I absolutely had to pick, but I don't particularly like any of those offers.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 12:24 PM) I've pondered where he goes for months it seems like. I was thinking Boston all along but then always thought the Dodgers may pony up and the Sox send him to the NL. However, I think LA trades for Kinsler and the Sox go for Boston's top hitting prospect package. Red Sox: Chris Sale-LHP Nate Jones-RP White Sox: Eduardo Rodriguez-LHP Andrew Benintendi-CF Michael Kopech-RHP Rafael Devers-3B Christian Vazquez-C (I'd take him over Swihart because Vazquez can at least play the position and is really good defensively.) That package seems way too light if both Sale and Jones are included, IMO.

Another Sale thread! How many do we have now? 7? lol
