  1. QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Jul 9, 2016 -> 01:15 PM) Unbelievable. Someone remind me how Q was a huge AS snub, please. He gave up one homer...
  2. QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Jul 8, 2016 -> 09:31 PM) Unless you think the voters will just slobber over wins and losses, there's no possible way. And again, 5 crummy starts in 9. Not "a bad game". He has no competition other than Salazar and Wright, who are both pitching way over their heads. I think he still has a shot, but he has to right the ship. FAST.
  3. QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Jul 8, 2016 -> 09:05 PM) Yeah, I do think you're right that it's mental. Just compare his game logs with some of those other guys. Bumgarner has given up four ERs twice this year. In one other start, he only went five innings. Beyond that, it's complete dominance. We need to ditch that whole "Sale is best LHP outside of Kershaw"- it's offensive. Bumgarner's career regular season numbers are worse than Sale for the most part. Postseason stats are obviously in his favor though.
  4. I think I'm even more disappointed with this game considering who the opponent is. If he would've given up 8 to Boston, Baltimore, or Toronto, fine. It would suck, but I'd get over it. But the Braves? Good lord.
  5. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jul 8, 2016 -> 08:51 PM) Sale's s***ty stretch pretty much ensures he's out of the Cy race. Incredible how quickly he tanked it. I wouldn't go that far, but he definitely hurt his chances tonight.
  6. Fatigue has always been an issue with Sale in July/August. He's an ace, but I wish they would manage his innings better. He has such a heavy workload that he's bound to slip up sometimes.
  7. Fathom, I told you. "Braves had a hitters meeting before the game, and Tyler Flowers ran it." From Scot Gregor.
  8. Goodbye Cy Young. So disappointing. So so disappointing.
  9. Sale wouldn't pitch in the All Star Game if it was up to me. He looks gassed tonight and needs some extended rest.
  10. I had a bad feeling that Flowers would know how to hit Sale and then tell his teammates Sale's tendencies. Ouch.
  11. Lawrie could be an amazing player...but the K rate is holding him back.
  12. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 8, 2016 -> 07:17 PM) There goes your no hitter I feel responsible for the jinx lol, but in fairness, that ball barely got over the wall.
  13. That sucks, but there is still plenty of time left. Go get em.
  14. There are 2 A. Garcia's in this series. Which one is worse?
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 8, 2016 -> 03:07 PM) They haven't been moving "their better prospects". They have been moving second and third tier guys. Tim Anderson is here. Carlos Rodon is here. Tyler Saladino is here. Carson Fulmer is still in the system. Steven Adams is still in the system.
  16. He's also injured, so no thanks.
  17. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 03:23 PM) Here we go. Knew this was coming .750 OPS away from Coors field in 2016; .758 in 2015. That's Rios. Hahn set that value: Leury Garcia. (really should be less considering that Rios made 60% of Cargo's money) Paying anything more than the value of a .758 OPS earning $20 million a year is wishcasting. That's all it is. If we want a Rockie, get Blackmon I'll get my testicles chopped off if the Rockies trade Carlos Gonzalez straight up for Leury Garcia.
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 09:45 PM) Great start for Gonzalez. When you look around the league, everyone wants starting pitching except maybe the Indians. If the Sox can get some consistency, they could have one of the better rotations. Rodon is the key. If he pitches like we know he can, the Sox will have a very solid rotation. If he continues to stink up the joint, then, well, it isn't so good.
