  1. QUOTE (Tony @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 09:30 PM) Dude...... What? Never said those trades are realistic, I was just trying to generate some discussion as to how the future would look if the Sox traded two of their studs.
  2. QUOTE (Tony @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 09:24 PM) Yeah....give it a year or two of 70 win teams like you're asking for, you're going to be singing a different tune. I don't disagree with your premise, but it's not that simple, and you're basically admitting you are just sick of what you are watching and want something different, anything different. If it was a 70 win team with young potential in the minors (like the 2014 Cubs), I'd absolutely watch that and be confident that the team had a chance to improve in the future. Watching the Sox these days, that just isn't the case. Besides Anderson, the rest of the farm system has been very disappointing this year; and even Anderson isn't a sure thing. The Sox are in a tough position in the sense that they have legit talent at the MLB level (albeit, not enough to be an elite team), but have very little talent in the lower levels. If the big league sucks (like they have lately), then the organization is f***ed from top to bottom. It sucks, but it didn't have to be like this. Jerry/Kenny/Hahn created this disaster and now they have to deal with the consequences of a very poor team and an angry fanbase.
  3. Just as some hypothetical examples: The Sox trade Sale to Boston for Benintendi, Moncada, Devers, Rodriguez, Bradley, and Swihart. The Sox trade Quintana to the Cubs for Almora, Contreras, Baez, Edwards, Covey, and Russell. Just by trading 2 of their main assets, the Sox would add so much young talent to the minor leagues that could have sustainable success in the future. Obviously these trades wouldn't be exactly how I listed, but you guys get where I'm going. Accumulating young talent is the key to success in baseball these days. Not the crap that the Sox do year after year.
  4. QUOTE (Tony @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 09:15 PM) The Sox haven't developed a quality major league hitter since Magglio. Why do you think the Sox would be able to pull off a rebuild? That's true, but I really don't care at this point. I'm tired of the "rebuild while competing" BS. Either go all in and deal Anderson/Fulmer/Adams for legit MLB talent or do the opposite and trade everyone with value away. Obviously, rebuilding is a risk (especially considering how the Sox scout talent), but I'd much rather watch a young team with potential than this garbage they have now year after year. I'm sick of it. If they go all in, fine. I just don't want them to stand pat with a 75 win team like they have in past years. It isn't fair to the fans.
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 09:11 PM) Fire sale? Yeah right. It will never happen as long as Jerry is running things, but that is what I think they should do.
  6. Trade Sale, Q, Eaton, Frazier, Abreu, Melky, DRob, Lawrie, and anyone else with valuable right now. Start over completely. With the draft coming up and the prospects the Sox would get from dealing these guys, the future would be bright. Very bright.
  7. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 11:13 PM) Um. James Shields. In this context, he's starting tomorrow. You're free to ignore me - as I'm not going to edit myself to appease you. Tallyhoe. I'm not asking for you to appease me, I just don't know why you post the same silly GIF over and over again.
  8. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 11:09 PM) All I've gotta say is... /me drops mic. I've seen you post this GIF at least 5 times today. What are you trying to say? Stop.
  9. This is, absolutely, 100%, my least favorite White Sox team I've watched since I became a fan. It's one thing to downright suck like they have the past few years because they simply didn't have the talent, but this team is totally different. They showed they had the potential to win and be successful as a team early in the year, but they still managed to choke away a SIX, SEVEN, AND EIGHT game lead over their 3 main divisional opponents in LESS THAN A MONTH. It's ridiculously sad, pathetic, and embarrassing. I'm at my wits end watching this garbage.
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 11:24 AM) You need to simmer down lately, black cloud Sorry, I can't simmer down when there's a baboon as our manager.
  11. Because Robin is a f***ing, incoherent moron that doesn't care to look at matchups or statistics when creating a lineup. /thread
  12. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 10:38 AM) Oh heck, just trade away every young player. Saladino is on the next train out of town, then any prospect other than Fulmer and Anderson. Bring in all of those Brewers and Rockies. We can watch home run derby in July. Ventura and Cooper will be on cloud nine with all of the proven veterans and no youth to hassle with. And in a year, there will be a dispersal sale. It didn't have to be this way. I wish I could give you crap for this post, but I'm starting to agree with you. The Sox should absolutely go under a full rebuild, but it'll never happen. I guess Jerry is content with the same 75 win team every year.
  13. You know you suck when J.B. Shuck is hitting 5th.
  14. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jun 4, 2016 -> 05:36 PM) How would you have said the same exact thing when you just got done saying if the Sox lose today, they aren't a playoff team? Aren't you doing the same exact thing & projection a group's success w/ "just a feeling"? I never said the Sox would fail as a team if they got to the playoffs, I simply that that this isn't a playoff caliber team if they couldn't win this game. It's 2 separate ideas, though I can see where you're coming from.
  15. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jun 4, 2016 -> 05:31 PM) I'm willing to guarantee if that was about any other player on this team, you would have jumped on the train & agreed with me. Your obsession with Sale is getting a bit weird, man. lol No, I would've said the exact same thing. Predicting postseason success/failure for players that've never had the chance is just dumb.
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 4, 2016 -> 05:26 PM) ...said his biggest fan. It's a stupid statement. The regular season and playoffs are not even close to the same thing, so it makes no sense to predict how a certain player(s) would perform in the postseason if they've never gotten the chance. We've seen great players look horrible in the postseason and unknowns thrive. It's a crapshoot.
  17. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Jun 4, 2016 -> 05:25 PM) Everyone that has been blasting our pitchers are complete morons. Noone is winning a game (especially important games) scoring f***ing 2 runs off one of the f***ing worst pitchers in the game right now. 2 f***ing runs. This. Sale was pretty pathetic today, but there's so much pressure on him to be perfect EVERY SINGLE f***ING START because the team can't hit worth a damn.
  18. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jun 4, 2016 -> 05:18 PM) I'm not as sold as everyone is that Chris Sale is going to be worth a s*** in the playoffs or in big situations. His woes against the ENTIRE division is ridiculous. Please stop with this. We have absolutely no idea how he or anyone else would fare in the playoffs because they've never had the chance.
  19. If the Sox can't win this game, they won't win anything this year.
  20. I really hope Sale can get through next inning easily.
  21. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jun 4, 2016 -> 04:26 PM) Sale does not look good today. Honestly, his last few starts have not been his normal self, IMO. Probably going through a dead arm period of sorts.
