  1. How much cap room will the Bulls have to work with if they let Gasol and Noah walk?
  2. Getting to 6-2 would be SO nice. Let's hope Rodon is up for the challenge. He looked solid last time, he just couldn't get any run support. I'm hoping the Sox can tee off of Hughes.
  3. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 11:37 AM) We wouldn't have one of Fulmer/Anderson though, with COL's asking price I'd trade anyone in the system besides those two for him, but like you said, getting him would probably require the Sox to trade at least one of them.
  4. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 11:25 AM) Hell by the time they trade for him maybe Anderson at short. Even better. Eaton Melky Abreu Frazier CarGo Lawrie Navarro Jackson Anderson and they probably would bring up Fulmer by that point too, so the rotation would be: Sale Q Rodon Latos Fulmer Awesome. I would love to see these ideas come to fruition at some point this season.
  5. CarGo is the obvious solution if the team is serious about winning IMO. Just imagine the lineup if he replaced Avi. Eaton Melky Abreu Frazier CarGo Lawrie Navarro Rollins Jackson
  6. Sounds like Engel could get called up during the stretch run if the Sox need a pinch runner or defensive replacement.
  7. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 09:00 AM) Well, it's been said that one night in Bangkok makes a hard man humble. So there's that. You've won the internet for today and it's barely 9 AM. Bravo.
  8. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 08:12 AM) Sox dispatched several young players over the last two years, who are far outperforming the proven veterans they were traded for. I see no reason to trade for prospects from another organization, when the Sox can't properly evaluate their own. They arent very good at evaluating the veterans either. The best choice is to just keep calling players up and see who sticks, recognizing that the evaluators judged a .900 OPS from a young player as fourth outfielder quality. That said, the team will contend if the bullpen holds up. They are relying on four guys and that eventually will have to be broadened for the pitching to be good enough. If it was up to you, you'd have 9 youngsters making the minimum salary in the big league lineup instead of the team that the Sox have now. It makes no sense, unless you want to be in an never-ending rebuild.
  9. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 07:01 AM) Wish it was an afternoon game because the Penguins playoff game is tonight. Time for some multitasking. Baseball > Hockey
  10. QUOTE (SoxSteve @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 12:26 AM) Trade for Voglelbach and be done with it. Can help just facing righties this year and then full time DH next year. Left handed bat that could be had without raiding our minor leagues and without sacrificing our defense. It's right there for the taking. Cubs will trade him soon so it might as well be us. No brainer in my book Is he even MLB ready yet? I thought I remembered people here saying he was only in AA.
  11. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 11:33 AM) Leury He doesnt have a fraction of the speed of Dyson/Gore.
  12. I really wish the Sox had a speedster like Gore or Dyson from KC that they could put in towards the end of the game if they are losing by a run or two.
  13. QUOTE (Special K @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 07:52 AM) We're stuck with Danks until we have an alternative. In the scheme of things, when we're complaining about Danks as our 5th starter, it means we have nice problems. I think the bigger issue is that we will need another "good" bat at some point to replace Avi. Just can't see the offense keeping up at this pace - hope i'm wrong. That is why the $13 million the Sox saved from the LaRoche fiasco is really nice. They can afford to trade for a big bat at the deadline with that money.
  14. The Sox are up 5 games on the Twins already, gotta love that.
