  1. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Nov 26, 2015 -> 07:33 PM) Well, on Thanksgiving I'm thankful that I don't have to watch Soto's throws back to the pitcher any more. Hahahahahaha I hated how he always fell forward and rubbed his hands in the dirt after he threw the ball back. It was so freaking annoying.
  2. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 27, 2015 -> 11:25 AM) I'm not sure he's available but I'm sure they'd want Anderson to start the deal. I'm probably in the minority, but I'd give up Anderson + Adams/Danish/etc for Longo. Then I'd sign Ian Desmond to play short.
  3. If the Sox can get Longoria without giving up Sale, Q, or Rodon, I'd be all for it.
  4. So much for improving their draft position for next year.
  5. QUOTE (daggins @ Nov 26, 2015 -> 01:14 PM) Lawrie isn't good though. He's better than Saladino IMO.
  6. This is a guy that the Sox should ABSOLUTELY go after. Even if he had an identical season in 2016 as he did last year, he'd be way better than any 3rd baseman the Sox currently have. Not to mention that he's only 26 years old.
  7. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 26, 2015 -> 12:20 PM) Naw I'm good. I'll keep those three players. Why? None of them are that great.
  8. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 26, 2015 -> 11:48 AM) What do you guys think it would take to get Lawrie? I bet Oakland would accept a package of Danish/Beck/Saladino for him.
  9. Some of y'all find a reason to b**** about absolutely everything lol.
  10. I just happened to come upon his Instagram profile, and his last post made about 10 minutes ago said: "Nothing like playing for your hometown team. So blessed for this opportunity." #dreamcometrue The picture along with this post is a picture of the Marlins stadium. So, can I assume that he's not in the Sox organization any longer? Can someone verify this? I always liked him, and I thought he should've been given more of a chance to succeed at the big league level.
  11. It ultimately comes down to whether or not everyone thinks if Avila is an upgrade over Soto. I think that he is, so I like this move.
  12. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 25, 2015 -> 10:46 AM) Don't think he was used properly as a closer but he has potential to be an ok reliever. He had a 2 something ERA until August when he had 3 terrible outings. He obviously has a little talent. Hopefully Coop can work with him and take him to the next level.
  13. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Nov 25, 2015 -> 10:40 AM) Platooning with flowers Gotcha. I think this could actually be a solid platoon. It seems like Flowers is much better at hitting left handed pitching.
  14. Will he be the starter or the backup? Flowers will catch Sale no matter what, but I wonder what Avila's role will be. For less than $3 million, I like this signing.
  15. QUOTE (bulokis @ Nov 24, 2015 -> 08:43 PM) He can be Sale's personal catcher but we cant have him as our starter again That's exactly how I feel as well.
  16. Kahnle is essentially Jake Petricka on steroids. The Sox can never have enough power arms. If nothing else, he'll serve as a nice depth piece.
  17. Flowers has a roster spot secure as long as Sale is on the team.
  18. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Nov 24, 2015 -> 06:44 PM) Here is to hoping Flowers will be the backup now. Yep. I just don't know who the Sox could go after. Maybe Derek Norris, but I'm not exactly thrilled with him.
  19. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 24, 2015 -> 05:40 PM) Petricka is the guy I'd trade 100000000% agree. Petricka has never impressed me and I don't think he has a long future in baseball honestly. He doesn't have that "out" pitch that separates the mediocre relievers from the great ones.
  20. If he can can play rock solid defense and hit around .275 with 10 homers, I'd love to get him. He's younger and cheaper than Freese at the very least. He reminds me of Kang after watching that highlight video.
  21. I could see this guy being Putnam 2.0 if everything works out.
  22. I bet Coop saw something in his delivery that he thought he'd be able to fix, hence the acquisition.
  23. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Nov 23, 2015 -> 01:41 PM) Eaton is ahead of the curve then lol
