  1. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 08:47 AM) I thought the addition of Hoiberg would cut his minutes significantly. Meaning, no more 20+ minute games from him, but we'll see. I'd like Moore to get his minutes, and I think that's what will happen. I'd much rather have Aaron Brooks or Moore play than Hinrich. Hell, I'd prefer D.J. Augustin to him too.
  2. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 08:15 AM) Yup. Trading from our weaknesses (hitting) would be foolish. Who knows how bad this offense would've been if he didn't bounce back after that bad April. He ended with the 2nd most home runs and the 2nd highest average on the team (14/.287), with Abreu being #1. I'd go as far to say that Eaton and Abreu should be the ONLY untouchable hitters. It makes no sense to trade away from a position of weakness, just to make it even weaker. It just doesn't.
  3. The Bulls need to waive Kirk Hinrich already. The dude has been washed up for years, yet he still has a roster spot. He's the Bulls equivalent of John Danks.
  4. Trading Eaton would be a horrible mistake. He was the second best hitter on the team last year.
  5. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 07:57 PM) Pass Can you elaborate as to why you'd pass on that deal?
  6. I could see a Q for Schwarber deal in the works. It would help both teams.
  7. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 11:16 AM) New updated mock that I was thinking of last night. Give Samardzija QO, he rejects it. Pick up Alexei's 10 million option Resign: RP Matt Albers 1 year/3 million Free Agency: Sign SP Zack Grienke 5 years/150 million Trades Sox trade 2B Micah Johnson and RF Avisail Garcia to the Padres for C Derek Norris Sox trade SP Erik Johnson, 3B Trey Michalczewski, SP Frankie Montas, 2B Carlos Sanchez, and SP Tyler Danish to the Reds for 3B Todd Frazier and 2B/SS Zack Cozart CF Eaton (L) 2B Cozart (L) 1B Abreu LF Cabrera (S) 3B Frazier DH LaRoche (L) RF Thompson SS Ramirez C Norris UTIL Saladino, OF Shuck, C Flowers, 1B/3B Olt Sale (L) Grienke Quintana (L) Rodon (L) Danks (L) RP Carroll (long man) RP Jennings (L) RP Putnam RP Petricka RP Duke (L) RP Jones CP Robertson Thoughts? I like this plan, but I don't see them shelling out $150 million for Greinke.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 11:39 AM) Schwarber, Baez and Soler for Sale. Probably would have to substitute Castro for Baez or Soler....making the deal a no go but definitely interesting. Maybe we could throw in Avi and Sanchez/Micah to get Soler back. White Sox sign Jordan Zimmermann. Instant title. Sale would of course end up like Mike Sirotka or Matt Karchner and Cubs' fans would be whining for decades. NO NO NO. Baez is a poor man's Alexei Ramirez with a little more pop, Soler reminds me of Avi Garcia, and Schwarber doesn't have a position. I would absolutely hate that deal.
  9. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 07:57 AM) Now we got all the optimism back today because its officially "Back to the future" day. Cripes. We cannot deny that movie! Whatever happened in it must happen in real life too!
  10. The weather was nice and warm yesterday, what's the excuse for their piss-poor showing last night? lol
  11. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 09:23 PM) It is looking GRIMM for the Cubs right now I see what you did there. I see it.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 08:47 PM) It's a joke about former Sox Juan Uribe, who would often swing out of his ass for the longball. That said, he was simply great at adjusting with a runner on 3rd and less than 2 outs. Oh, I know Juan Uribe for sure. I just wasn't sure who Javier Uribe was lol.
  13. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 08:42 PM) Javier Uribe. Who?
  14. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 06:00 PM) Jeff Samardzija has no plans to re-sign with the White Sox
  15. QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 05:33 PM) The Cubs would have taken Rodon if the Sox didn't. In fact, he was #1 on both team's boards. Agreed. The Cubs offense would survive without Schwarber, and their rotation would become 10X better with Rodon instead of Hendricks or Hammel.
  16. Is it raining at Wrigley right now? I'm up north and it's been dark and rainy all day.
  17. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 04:53 PM) Boss just told me he couldn't imagine not supporting a team from your city (he's not really a baseball fan). Again, are Yankees fans being held to the same standard right now? Then he shouldn't be talking. People don't know how seriously fans take these rivalries if they don't watch the games.
  18. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 10:41 AM) In a win where the Jays pitching yielded 8 runs, I think Jays fans should be cheering for better pitching from their team. Cannot rely on offense every night. Hopefully Dickey has a good knuckler this after noon and helps the Jays even the series. I think the pitching matchup favors the Jays. Whoops.
  19. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 03:19 PM) Let's be completely and totally honest here. If that C were an indian head, and the sport were Hockey, we would all look like idiots. I wouldn't pay that much for a Blackhawks Stanley Cup game honestly, but I don't particularly like hockey. Hell, I doubt I'd even pay over $1000 for a White Sox World Series game. I just can't justify dropping that much money on a single event when I could watch it for much, much less in the comfort of my own home.
  20. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 02:56 PM) Saw this posted a couple days ago, things might have changed since then, too lazy to look. Current Cheapest Ticket Prices for WS Home Game 1: BlueJays: $442 Royals: $796 Mets: $902 Cubs: $2575 Good lord, Cubs fans are literally the dumbest people on Earth. Yes, I realize that World Series appearances for their team are rare, but $2500 for one ticket? That's a fortune. Unless someone is insanely rich and don't know what to do with their money, that's crazy.
  21. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 11:51 AM) Four game winning streaks (or four out of five) have happened before in the history of the universe. Cubs themselves just ripped three in a row off in the DS and four out of five going back to the WC game. I'll feel better about things if the Mets keep their foot on the Cubs throat and pull it off tonight. Normally I'd agree, but I don't see the Cubs winning 4 out of 5 against deGrom, Matz, Harvey, Syndergaard, and then deGrom again. Frankly, I'd be surprised if the Cubs forced a game 6. I think the Mets will either sweep or win in 5.
  22. QUOTE (bjm676 @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 11:13 AM) I have a feeling STL will pay up to bring him back. Agreed, especially if the Cubs are interested in him. It would be the worst case scenario for STL if Heyward left and then went to the Cubs too. It's like a slap in the face. I bet they'll fork over the dough for him just so that it'll prevent him from going to the Cubs.
  23. I'm wishing him the best. It sucks to see a young guy have a huge health problem like that, but hopefully he recovers soon.
  24. I'm going to be so happy when the Cubs are eliminated. The bandwagon fans are very annoying.
