  1. The only good thing is that this doesn't hurt his ERA.
  2. Thompson reaches second base with no outs, and of course they couldn't get him over and get him in. Typical White Sox baseball right there.
  3. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 18, 2015 -> 03:17 PM) Because if he were in another division those teams wouldn't be seeing him just as much? That makes no sense. Why don't we own every pitcher in our division then if we see them so often? He has a rough ERA against every ALC foe this year sans Cleveland (2.45 ERA), but last year he was fine. Detroit: 2.25 ERA Cleveland: 2.57 ERA Minnesota: 2.95 ERA KC: 2.70 ERA I wouldn't read too much into it. Because the Sox offense is trash haha.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 18, 2015 -> 03:00 PM) Oh goodie. We get to play Cleveland again. How did baseball owners agree to this asinine unbalanced schedule? The Sox basically compete against four teams: KC, Detroit, Cleveland and Minnie over and over and over. BORING. Yep, and those teams repeatedly destroy Sale because they see him 4-5 times a year each. Sale's ERA would be a full run lower if he was in any other division IMO.
  5. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 18, 2015 -> 12:24 PM) I thought we've all agreed that pitcher's wins are a stupid stat? I haven't paid attention to it in years. I'd tend to agree with that, but I'll take a win over a no-decision any day.
  6. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Sep 18, 2015 -> 10:30 AM) Sox need to lose them all. Except for tonight. I want Sale to get as many wins as possible.
  7. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 18, 2015 -> 08:37 AM) If a 16 year old tweeted at me telling me how to become a better teacher, I'd probably block them as well. He's not being sensitive. He doesn't have time to deal with dopes. I think he knows that if he doesn't get much better, it'll be a short career. They are professionals. Which would suck because he has all the talent in the world, but he just hasn't figured it out yet. I'm hoping that he'll make me eat my words and he'll become a star, but that possibility is looking less and less possible each passing day...
  8. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 08:00 PM) Is it just rookies? I can't tell who they all are. Petricka and Webb aren't rookies, and I don't think Sanchez is either.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 04:20 PM) Makes sense, but I would disagree he's been worth his contract. Now that Nate is back we should close by committee (gulp) next year and trade him because of his outrageous contract during winter. A contender will want him IMO. I think Montas is the closer of the future personally.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 04:01 PM) Why does Robertson get a pass this season? He has been rather ordinary at best. I advocated trading him at the break and people laughed at me. In his defense, he hasn't had regular appearances so he can never develop a routine. But I get what you're saying. He's overpaid for what he is.
  11. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 04:00 PM) So with a lefty on the mound why didn't we just pinch run Beckham for Flowers and then PH Trayce for Saladino & Abreu for Micah? Because Robin uses his Magic 8 ball to manage rather than his brain.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 03:59 PM) Rob Brantley. I always forget about him. Dammit. On a related note, do any of you think that he has a chance to make the team next year? He hasn't been that bad so far.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 03:58 PM) Jose Q with a great great performance. He knows how to pitch!!! Congratulations on another fine season, Mr. Q. ...yet he's still under .500 this season. He is the most unlucky pitcher I've ever seen.
  14. Another loss, another game closer to a top 10 pick. Bleh. I want to see a relevant Sox team in September for once.
  15. Pinch running for Flowers there makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. 1. That isn't the tying run. 2. If they do tie it and it goes to extras, who will catch? Soto is the DH today.
  16. I feel so bad for Quintana. He deserves better than this.
  17. Good lord. This team is bad. But it's probably for the best anyway.
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 03:35 PM) I mean, who can go to these games? I never understood why day games are scheduled during the week. The attendance will always be low because most people will be at work or school.
  19. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 03:37 PM) You post like a scrub. That won't cut it for this board. That's the same thing, right?
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 03:24 PM) Whoever Tweeted that to Avi ... that's pretty funny cause you know he thought of that offensive tweet when he got owned on that last high fastball. He needs to get better, plain and simple. He's playing like a scrub right now and that won't cut it for next year.
  21. Avi strikes out again on a high fastball. What else is new?
  22. Quintana is so underrated. He consistently puts up solid numbers every start.
