  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 10:38 AM) He is on the market and we have a history of him. Technically he's a great platoon fit with one of our other catchers. He also brings a nice presence with him. I'd say it probably is, but I can't see the Sox just dropping one of Flowers / Soto and I also don't see us carrying 3 catchers (unless they plan on DH'ing Soto a bit in a platoon with LaRoche)? I'd drop Flowers honestly. Soto can hit at the very least and his defense is ok. Flowers isn't particularly good at anything besides being Sale's personal catcher.
  2. So is Pierzynski coming back a realistic move? If so, I'd LOVE IT!
  3. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 09:26 AM) This game feels like as close to a guaranteed win as you can get in baseball, we can't afford to blow this. Which means we'll probably lose.
  4. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 10:13 AM) People arguing Gomez over CarGo are nuts lol. When healthy CarGo is a superstar. Gomez is not. This is 100% wrong. Coors inflates CarGo's numbers by a lot.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 12:46 AM) Since they're starting on a Thursday, one would guess that's 4 games at Minny. Bad luck for the White Sox here, no Felix Hernandez in a four-gamer. JA Happ vs. Hughes T. Walker (rough last four starts) vs. Milone Montgomery (also rough the last four after dominating) vs. Gibson Iwakuma vs. Pelfrey Yankees FRI-SUN Rodon vs. TBA Danks vs. TBA Samardzija vs. TBA Most likely scenario, Twins split and the White Sox take 2/3. Twins leading by 2. However, with how hot the Yankees are (yes, so are we) and Rodon/Danks both going, anything's possible on the positive or negative side. About the only thing we can predict ahead of time is that Samardzija will go 7+ innings for the 10th or 11th straight time. The starters for the Yankees are Sabathia, Eovaldi, and Nova in that order. The Sox should be able to take the first and third games in the series, while the Yankees take the middle one.
  6. Where would LaRoche go?
  7. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 11:15 PM) Mets backed out of the trade because of concerns with Gomez's hip. Per Rosenthal I'd still trade for him anyway. Herm Schneider could work wonders on him.
  8. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 11:07 PM) Gomez is a f*** stick. I would rather not have to root for him. He might be, but he's a hell of a player that'd make this team better.
  9. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 10:59 PM) I wouldn't give up Montas and Micah. Why not? He's already an established, solid player that would fit great on this team.
  10. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 10:52 PM) They wouldn't bite. Not even close How is that offer any worse than Wheeler and Flores? If anything, the Mets proposal is more risky since Wheeler is coming off of TJ surgery. I'd give them Avi too if that made them do the deal.
  11. Now that the Gomez trade has fallen through, he is still available to anyone on the market. The Brewers have already shown their hand on what they'd need for him. They wanted a young pitcher and an infielder. Why don't the Sox offer Montas, Micah, and a lower level prospect for him? I think the Brewers would be interested. Imagine how good the Sox would be with Gomez behind Eaton? Plus Gomez would be here for 2016 as well. Let's discuss. I think Hahn should try to get him.
  12. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 10:06 PM) 55 runs in 7 games Gotcha. It was just unclear.
  13. Make it 8 tomorrow with Sale! Go Sox! WOOOOOO!
  14. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 09:35 PM) Hope Webb pitches the 9th. Or Albers I don't know if Albers is available since he threw a ton of pitches the other night.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 09:16 PM) Two more runs and we're up to 24th in runs scored in MLB. Remember when Alexi Ogando used to have a great arm with the Rangers, along with Neftali Feliz? Yep. Both went so far downhill that it's crazy.
  16. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 09:03 PM) @scotgregor: Looking ahead: Sale starts for #WhiteSox tomorrow vs. Boston's Steven Wright, who has allowed 10 R, 11 H in 9.1 IP in last 2 starts Offense should tee off again tomorrow Good. We need to sweep and Sale needs to get a win to improve his Cy Young chances.
  17. Maybe they're coming to us.
