  1. It would be a huge statement if the Sox could beat Cleveland when their best pitcher is on the hill. If the Sox can take 3/4 from this series, Cleveland is toast.
  2. I like how Hawk and Rowand made it sound like the Sox won the World Series lol.
  3. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 17, 2015 -> 05:57 PM) Wow, I just realized we have 2 long relievers in the bullpen right now. That really limits the pen, no wonder I feel like we see the same pitchers every night. No reason to have both in the pen, we need another RH set up guy (Cleto?) Cleto isn't really that good for that matter either. I think Nate Jones will be a huge boost if he can come back this year.
  4. I'd let Robertson rest today. Bring in Putnam or Carroll.
  5. Bonifacio is the best bunter on the team by a longshot.
  6. I am really hoping that he learns how to pitch effectively with his diminished stuff. If he can change speeds consistently and paint the corners of the strike zone, I think he can still be a solid pitcher.
  7. Let's sweep here and end the road trip at 5-1.
  8. QUOTE (lord chas @ May 16, 2015 -> 11:13 PM) House of Horrors conquered Not yet. Gotta take tomorrow's game too.
  9. QUOTE (scs787 @ May 16, 2015 -> 09:41 AM) Not sure if serious, but the guy pitched 4 of the previous 5 games. They just gave him 2 days off...,He can't pitch every game of this 10 game win streak they're about to go on! I get that, but he had an off day before yesterday's game too. In an important game to win, he should've been able to pitch. That's why the Sox paid him $48 million+. So he could close big games.
  10. Does anyone know why Robertson didn't pitch yesterday?
  11. Hawk, I don't want to know what you're doing in the shower.
  12. Rodon is ridiculously good. He's only 22 now, imagine how good he'll be at 26/27/28.
  13. I think the key for Rodon is to get 1st pitch strikes. Once he gets ahead of a hitter, they have virtually no chance.
  14. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 15, 2015 -> 09:52 PM) What year? 2049.
  15. The defense is letting Rodon down. Hopefully they fix that problem ASAP.
  16. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ May 14, 2015 -> 10:10 PM) Well the Brewers suck. As a team they have the 2nd highest K% and 5th lowest BB% in baseball this year, so were an ideal match-up for Rodon's first start. Oakland should be much tougher. They're one of the better teams at putting the ball in play, and rarely swing at pitches out of the zone, so not a good match-up for a rookie with control/command issues. 10K in 7IP is probably a little optimistic. Maybe 6 IP, 4 BB, 5 SO. No idea for hits/runs. He faced the Reds last time out. I actually like his chances more against Oakland than against Cincy because of that huge ballpark and the the fact that the A's are horrible against lefties and sliders.
