I’ve seen some people compare Crochet to Chris Sale. Does anyone know if that’s actually somewhat true?

I think they would keep Gonzalez for 2021 in a swingman/spot starter role too. Maybe EE as well, though that depends on how Vaughn develops.

I think both have team options for 2021, so the Sox could get rid of them if they wanted to.

That would be better than no baseball at all but it would suck to not be able to see this team play in-person.

That seems really optimistic to me. At this point, I’d be shocked if the MLB season started before June 1st. I think it’s possible that the entire season is cancelled.

Do you think this increases the chances of the Sox getting either Colas or Cespedes?

Not that it really matters in the grand scheme of things, but what do you guys think will happen in terms of Opening Day? My guess is that the Sox will play, there just won’t be any fans. But who knows at this point.

Spring Training doesn’t mean anything, so I’m not particularly worried about Edwin. Should he struggle in the regular season, just DFA him and give his at-bats to Yermin. That’s the beauty of finally having quality depth on this team for the first time in forever.

I still can’t believe how team friendly this deal is. They’re paying him pennies on the dollar for his prime years. Incredible.

So if the club option gets picked up, Moncada won’t hit free agency until after the 2025 season, correct?

That is such a steal, oh my god. Is he going to be a free agent after the 2025 season or the 2026 season?

I hope he makes the team, that would be a nice comeback story.

In all seriousness, Delmonico seems like a good guy so I hope he succeeds. I don’t see that being with the Sox at this point, but hopefully he catches on with a bottom feeder like Detroit and Miami and gets regular playing time.

I know it won’t happen but Eloy should hit higher in the lineup than Abreu and EE.

I used to have hope for Jose Ruiz because he has a huge arm and hadn’t been pitching for that long, but I’m convinced he just sucks at this point.
