I’m not a big Puig fan but I’d be fine with it at this point. He’s good depth should someone get hurt and will come cheap enough that the Sox can DFA him if it doesn’t work out.
But Dozier and Holt aren’t really shortstops either, so I don’t know what the plan is at this point unless they’re just going to go with Leury as the utility infielder once Madrigal comes up.
Tim is one of the best things to happen to the Sox in a long time. He's given this team so much attention and that doesn't even include the charitable work he does on the side. The guy just seems like a good person.
If anything, I think Ross Stripling is a better fit for the Sox than Pederson is at this point. I'd love to see the Sox swing a deal for him and make him the swingman/spot starter.
So they basically got another 2nd round pick for just money. Sounds like a nice deal then. It’s always a good thing to add another young arm with upside into the system.
