  1. I think I’m in the minority here, but I would love to see the Twins sign Josh Donaldson. Giving a 34 year old over 100 million dollars doesn’t usually work out too well and that contract crippling them in the future would be fantastic.
  2. Another good laugh right here
  3. Would the Sox be able to even sign him? I know they were penalized for awhile after the Robert signing. Don’t really know how the international signing rules work.
  4. I feel like the Sox are going to get Cishek but I’d prefer Hudson.
  5. 3 years is a long time for a 35 year old...maybe passing on him wasn’t a bad idea after all
  6. This isn’t entirely accurate though. The Tatis trade essentially started the whole rebuild process because Shields was so bad. If that trade never happened, there’s no guarantee that the team would look the same as it does right now.
  7. I could see Robert starting 2020 similarly to how Eloy started 2019, but there’s no reason why he won’t be able to adjust.
  8. Not that it really matters, but I can’t believe Tayron Guerrero was DFAed instead of Dylan Covey. It’s unbelievable how long of a leash Covey has had considering how terrible he is.
  9. Do you guys think they’ll do something similar for Madrigal?
  10. The Sox have Eloy through 2026 and Robert through 2027. Amazing.
  11. I agree with this. I would have never thought the Sox had a chance of signing Betts before this offseason started, but they proved that they will spend aggressively on guys they really like (Grandal) and offer the most for a desirable free agent (Wheeler). I’m not saying that the Sox will sign Betts, but I feel more optimistic about the possibility of it happening than I did when this offseason started.
  12. Edwin Diaz is so intriguing to me. I have no idea how much it would take to get him, but he’s proven how good he can be and is still under team control for awhile. If the Sox traded for him and he turned things around, he would be the closer and everyone else would move down an inning. That could be a really good bullpen with Bummer/Colomé/Diaz covering the 7th/8th/9th.
  13. They also brought back Pineda, but yeah, that rotation is not very good at all. Hill is good when he’s on the mound but he’s almost always injured. And Bailey is trash.
  14. We get Keuchel, they get Hill and Bailey. Love it to see it.
  15. Rumor has it that they couldn’t sign Eric Sogard until they subtracted money, so I think they’re pretty broke.
  16. When I opened this thread, I was in college. I am now in a retirement home as I’m replying to this.
  17. Cubs are so broke that they can’t even afford this guy. Lol
  18. Thanks guys. Hopefully they’ll have enough money to get another good reliever and a platoon partner for Mazara.
  19. Anyone know what the Sox payroll is for 2020 after the Keuchel and Encarnacion signings?
  20. I still think Ruiz has potential. And they claimed Guerrero off waivers earlier this offseason, so I hope they give him a look as well. Zavala, Covey, Fulmer, etc should all be gone before those two.
