  1. I’m talking about their infielders. Where are guys like Norby and Ortiz going to play a year from now? They are completely blocked. I think they might even end up with excess outfielders, but their infield situation is ridiculously crowded at the moment.
  2. They have so many position players who are blocked in AAA. How does staying the course instead of trading some of them for pitching help them?
  3. They have way too many holes to use their best trade chip on another catcher as the centerpiece.
  4. Rushing is too redundant with Quero unless they trade one of them.
  5. I don’t know if Santos is even tradable at the moment because of that elbow issue. But if he is, they probably should move him. Always sell high on relievers, especially when the team sucks.
  6. I keep checking for updates on this as if Erick Fedde is Ohtani. I need help.
  7. I don’t know if you are trolling or not but this seems to be a very obvious leak by the Braves to get the Sox to lower the asking price.
  8. Elias is such a scaredy cat. Guy is afraid to trade any prospects even though they are all blocked and the big league team needs starting pitching. Hope that team never wins anything.
  9. I mean you could also make the argument that taking on that money was worth it if Kelenic is a key part of a Cease trade, as Cease is very underpaid over the next 2 seasons compared to pitchers of a similar talent level as him. But who knows if the Sox would even want him.
  10. 2 years of arbitration level salaries is still plenty valuable considering free agent pitching contracts now. I mean Lance Lynn just got $10 million for 2024 and he was atrocious this past season.
  11. Well the contract is an important aspect of it. Cease will make less money over the next 2 seasons combined than a guy like Tyler Glasnow will make in 2024 alone. Combine that with the other factors I mentioned and it makes sense why Cease is a valued commodity. Is he flawed? Of course. But teams will still give up a haul for him I’d assume.
  12. With all due respect, this is why you are not a GM. You are acting like 2022 was the only good year Cease had. He had 3.5+ fWAR in both 2021 and 2023 as well. He’s also durable, controlled for 2 more seasons, has good stuff, and is not expensive. Those are all important factors that you are overlooking.
  13. Off topic, but does anyone else get a pop up ad whenever they open a thread on this site? It’s very annoying.
  14. This is more appealing to me than just trading with Atlanta straight up.
  15. Is it a stretch to think the Braves got Kelenic to include in a package for Cease?
  16. Morosi said the Giants are in on Cease. Not sure if that’s new info but I hadn’t seen that until now.

  18. AJSS and Waldrep are somewhat intriguing but yeah I’m hoping someone else steps up and offers more.
  19. I don’t agree that they have “a lot” of pitching, but yeah that Braves offer is underwhelming.
  20. It’s not that he sucks. It’s that he has a ton of miles on his legs, is on the decline, and is very expensive for Jerry standards.
  21. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/12/mlb-free-agent-rumors-martin-maldonado-padres-marlins-white-sox-astros.html?utm_source=twitter
  22. I’d say Caulfield has more credibility than Jim Bowden.
