  1. He deleted his account! This is almost as good as getting Machado!
  2. The Nationals are the wild card in all this. If they're not serious about Harper, he'll go the Philly which opens up the door for Machado to come to the Sox. That's how I see it as of now.
  3. If the Sox get one and they get one, that's fine with me. But the Sox not getting either of them after all this is my absolute worst nightmare.
  4. There's no way the Phillies could possibly sign both Machado and Harper, right?
  5. Harper to the Phillies is the best case scenario for us as of now in my opinion. That would probably take them out of the Machado race.
  6. How many more posts does this thread need to become the biggest in SoxTalk history?
  7. This would be so much easier if Machado would be a team player and play 3rd base. Shifting Anderson and Moncada around is a terrible idea.
  8. I'm not really sure their fanbase is all that bigger than ours. And as far as winning goes, they'll probably have more wins than the Sox next year, but they're in a much tougher division and I like the Sox collection of talent a lot better.
  9. If the money is equal, I can't think of one good reason why he would choose the Phillies over the Sox.
  10. This forum seems a lot more pessimistic about this whole thing today as opposed to yesterday. Ugh.
  11. Somehow the Sox sign Harper, get a Silver Slugger type season from him, and still finish 5 games worse than last year in this simulation. Lol that is insanity.
  12. I'll be beyond irate if he signs elsewhere and has just been trolling us this whole time.
  13. It's a video of his framed jersey alongside Alonso's. He starts the video focused on Alonso's jersey and then pans it to his own. Very interesting.
  14. If this is true, aren't the Sox essentially guaranteed to get Machado? I can't see Philadelphia signing both of them.
  15. How would the Sox be in the final 2 if their offer is that low? That doesn't even make any sense.
  16. If the Sox were only offering 200 million at this point, they wouldn't even be considered anymore. It's not true.
  17. It's easy to look at a situation like this with the benefit of hindsight. At the time, calling him up when they did made sense because he did nothing but hit in the short time he was in the minors. But given that he ended up being a bust for lack of a better word, it's only fair to think about how his career would have fared if he had proper development time in the minors. He is the main reason why I don't want the Sox to move Anderson and Moncada to different positions.
  18. I think a lot of it was also because he was rushed. He didn't have that many minor league at-bats before being called up if I remember correctly. I really thought he was going to be a star after his rookie year, it's a shame it didn't work out.
