  1. I like the Dylan Bundy idea. Former #4 overall pick with good stuff and 3 years of control left. He didn't have a good season at all last year so I wonder what it would take to get him knowing that the Orioles are still at the beginning of their rebuild and looking to accumulate prospects. He's worth a shot if the price isn't too high.
  2. Starting pitching is the main reason why the Orioles have progressively been getting worse and worse...not Britton and Jones. So it's not like the Sox would be "reuniting the Orioles as a rebuilding strategy". Obviously those two aren't as good as they used to be but they are still productive players and would make the Sox a better team. Add in the fact that they are close with Machado and it's just a bonus.
  3. 1. Paul Konerko 2. Jim Thome 3. Chris Sale 4. Jose Quintana 5. Mark Buehrle
  4. My gut tells me it's Ottavino. The Sox were said to be looking for another relief pitcher even after the Colomé trade and he would make sense regardless of what happens with Harper/Machado.
  5. I would be shocked if the Sox traded for Realmuto. Shocked. A trade like that would go against everything the Sox have been trying to do since December 2016.
  6. He already was on the Sox like 10 years ago, he was part of the Jake Peavy trade if I remember correctly.
  7. I was born in 98 and they definitely register to me. There were several Sox fans other than me that I knew in high school. Obviously way more people like the Cubs but there is a group of young people that are Sox fans.
  8. Playoff appearances don't mean a thing if you don't win it all. I don't even know why this is a debate.
  9. It doesn't. They'd be better off avoiding Harper completely and just signing Adam Ottavino and Kelvin Herrera to beef up their bullpen.
  10. Yeah, nobody is going to take Russell given all his baggage. So it'd probably be Happ and Almora along with Heyward, which would subtract their starting CF and a quality utility guy who is young, cheap, and provides decent production at a variety of positions. And that doesn't even include that fact that they would have to include one of their better prospects as well. It's just not worth it for them IMO but it's a moot point because it won't happen anyway.
  11. It's not going to happen anyway, but would Harper even make the Cubs better in this scenario? Getting rid of Heyward would be good for them, but they'd probably have to include at least 2 of Happ/Schwarber/Almora/Contreras and probably a pitching prospect like Alzolay as well to make it happen. Harper is obviously a stud, but they'd be creating more holes while filling one.
  12. Do you really think they'll get both? At this point I'd be ecstatic if they just got one.
  13. If the Dodgers are out, who is even a possibility other than the Sox?
  14. I didn't even think about it but Bob is right in that respect. The Dodgers are extremely left handed heavy now, especially after trading Puig and Kemp. Pollock probably is the better fit for them right now and he would cost only a fraction of Harper.
  15. It'd be annoying for the Indians to get several good prospects for Kluber, but I could live with it if Harper came to the Sox.
  16. It doesn't, but they're obviously in on Machado. I just can't see the Sox winning a bidding war against them or even the Phillies. It sucks.
  17. I just can't see the Sox outbidding both the Phillies and Yankees, especially if Harper is off the board. This is the worst case scenario.
