  1. Apparently the Twins aren't putting Tyler Jay on the 40 man...he might be an interesting acquisition. Left handed and was a very high draft pick a few years ago.
  2. Spencer Adams is such a disappointment. Yet another high draft pick that amounted to nothing.
  3. The way I see it, trading for Paxton allows them to use the money they were going to spend on Corbin on Machado instead.
  4. He's already had 2 TJ surgeries and he threw 97 pitches on 2 days rest in the World Series. He didn't pitch that many innings in the postseason but he I could see him suffering the after-effects next season because of the way the Red Sox used him. Especially since he has a high effort delivery and throws in the high 90's.
  5. He'll be the starting pitcher version of Brandon Morrow. He was completely burned out in this past postseason and the effects of that will come next year. No thanks.
  6. It will pick up steam during the Winter Meetings, which of course is the same week I have finals.
  7. Is there any reason he didn't play for the Sox his entire career? I was just getting into baseball at that time.
  8. Swap Williams with JP Crawford and I'd consider it.
  9. Apparently the Diamondbacks are shopping Zack Greinke hard. That might be an intriguing short term possibility if they're willing to eat at least half of his contract.
  10. The White Sox have some of the best young talent in baseball, tons of money to spend, and play in one of the greatest cities in the world. I'm not saying they will get one of Machado/Harper, but for people to act like they have no chance is ridiculous.
  11. It's to be expected for Sox fans to discuss the pros and cons of signing a player like Harper or Machado, but I don't think those conversations have any real-world impact on whether the Sox will get one of them or not.
  12. What changed recently that makes people think the Sox getting either one of them is now a "pipedream"?
  13. Is Collins really that much of a butcher defensively? I thought he was supposed to be the catcher long term.
  14. I just don't see the point of Grandal. The Sox would have to forfeit a pick to get him and they already have Narvaez/Castillo with Collins/Zavala.
  15. You're right that Heyward was pretty much the same age when he signed with the Cubs as Harper is now, but I don't know what their WAR has to do with anything. There's not a baseball fan on the face of the Earth that would take Heyward over Harper even though Heyward has been more "valuable" from a WAR standpoint over his career.
  16. It would be the most White Sox thing ever to spent significant money on Grandal instead of Harper/Machado.
  17. Miggy and Pujols were each about 32 years old when they signed their most recent contracts. Harper is 26. TWENTY SIX. A player of his magnitude entering free agency at his age is almost unprecedented. The Sox should give him whatever he wants, it would be 100% worth it if they win a championship with him on the team.
  18. If anything, they should spend on relievers. Their bullpen was hot garbage after Morrow went down.
  19. Is Senzel really that much more valuable than Cease? The Reds are always desperate for pitching and Cease's upside is as high as any prospect in the game.
  20. I'd give serious thought to trading Cease for Senzel straight up.
