^^^ I agree with this. Although 400 million or whatever amount they would sign him for is a ridiculous sum of money, he would be well worth the investment. Jersey sales, ticket packages, concessions, etc would all increase dramatically if they signed him. Not to mention the marketing opportunities.

I don't think him following Joel Embiid has anything to do with the Phillies, but that's just me.

Not sure where you're getting this from. As far as I can tell, the only Phillies player Harper is following on Instagram is Rhys Hoskins.

If Bryant had more team control it would be something I would want the Sox to look into. But 3 years isn't long enough for what it would require to get him.

I don't understand what the point of signing Harper would be if they're going to trade Bryant.

He'll probably meet with both the Sox and Cubs this weekend. I'd assume the meeting with the Sox will be at the United Center the day of the Bulls game.

Is there a Phillies equivalent to this forum? I want to see what their fans are saying about this.

Although not ideal, I wouldn't be terribly disappointed if this happened. It's much better than not doing anything.

I would think the Cubs would have to shed Heyward and Chatwood's contract to have any chance of it happening.

Harper would just be so great. Imagine being able to pair a legit superstar with a guy on path to be a superstar in Eloy. That lefty/righty combo would be lethal.

I'm trying to not get my hopes up but this is so exciting.

The fact that the tweet was deleted makes me think there could be something to this.

You know what I was trying to say. The Sox could fill 3 or 4 holes with the same amount of money that they would be paying a 29 year old pitcher coming off a career year. They need to avoid Corbin at all costs. It's a no-brainer.

You could sign Donaldson, Brantley/McCutchen, Cahill, and a reliever like Familia for the same price as it would take to get Corbin.

This would be the worst case scenario. Jesus Christ.
