  1. I really don't think they needed to trade up to get Trubisky. Just another example of the incompetence by the Bears FO.
  2. Amazing, absolutely amazing. Whoever did this deserves recognition.
  3. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 10:00 AM) I think the Bears end up with Solomon Thomas. He's my favorite player in the class but I think they'd love to move down. Didn't you say Watson a couple days ago?
  4. QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 25, 2017 -> 08:28 AM) This same post was made about Matt Albers at this time last season. I'm not sure what that has to do with anything as they're clearly different kinds of pitchers. Swarzak's stuff is way better than Albers ever was last year.
  5. I don't know about you guys, but Swarzak has been awfully impressive to me so far. He might actually be able to net the Sox a prospect at the deadline at this rate.
  6. Sale had like 4 or 5 starts of 6 ER or more in 2015 and still finished with a 3.41 ERA, so I don't think it's out of the question for Q to finish around that number if he turns it around, starting now.
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 20, 2017 -> 02:37 PM) Can we get the Mother of all Bombs dropped on the Filibuster? Like all of it? Does this post belong in Filibuster? ...or you can just not visit that section anymore.
  8. QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 11:20 AM) Got it. That's how the numbers made sense but I wasn't sure. So if they offer him 20 million it turns into a 39 million cost. Some have said Robert is a top 25 prospect the moment he signs somewhere. So I'd sign him in a heartbeat if I was Reinsdorf.
  9. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 10:37 AM) The one playoff appearance he is referring to is 08. Ah I see. I misread the post. But still, my point stands. I'd rather make the playoffs twice in 12 years with one of them being a World Series title than making it 5 times in that span with nothing significant to show for it.
  10. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 10:30 AM) I'm with you for the most part but I wouldn't go down this rabbit hole ha. The Sox are one of like 3 teams iirc since 2005 to have only made the playoffs once. They're in some awful company. To be fair, I'd rather only make the playoffs once and win the World Series in said season than be like the Nationals or Dodgers.
  11. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 09:58 AM) They did offer Samardzija in the the neighborhood of 80-90 million and went pretty far for Alex Gordon too. The Tanaka offer was for over $100 million as well I believe. They haven't signed any of these deals. They've been in that area though before. Do those offers really have anything to do with Robert though? Gordon and Shark were proven MLB talents and Tanaka was significantly older and more polished at the time of signing his contract than Robert is now. Plus the Sox were "all in" then and looking to sign guys that could help the MLB team win right away. Comparing those guys to Robert is apples to oranges IMO.
  12. It seems like the Sox, Padres, and Cardinals are the most likely landing spots for Robert as of now. The Padres have already spent a ton on amateurs, so I think it'll come down to the Sox and St. Louis. Hopefully Reinsdorf spends like he should to get this guy.
  13. Man. Robert would be such a nice addition to the system but I honestly have no faith that the Sox will spend enough to get him.
  14. Would a 2 player package of Juan Soto and Andrew Stevenson be too much to ask for Robertson? Those guys are really intriguing.
  15. Not including Robertson in the Eaton trade was a savvy move by Hahn. DRob will have a lot of value in a couple months if he keeps dominating like he has been.
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 11:32 PM) He piqued my interest prior to going to Korea, glad to see him doing so well this go around. Wish the Sox would have been in on him. I mean, as long as he doesn't embarrass himself over the remaining 150 games, he's already been worthy of the $5 million or so he's going to be paid this year. I wanted the Sox to sign Thames months ago. He's the real deal and would've been a great trade chip at the deadline. Oh well.
  17. As far as I'm concerned, the Sox need to sign him at whatever price. Elite talents like Robert don't come along often...especially ones that fit the "window" to a tee.
  18. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 12:10 PM) I'm thinking bad unless they are willing to sign him at any cost. Jerry better open up that checkbook then.
  19. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 11:38 AM) Likely to clear before June 15th...says this article. http://www.baseballamerica.com/internation...er-luis-robert/ So...is this good or bad news for the Sox?
