I’m not convinced he’s always going to suck as a set up man. Last year was a different set of circumstances. He knows his role this year from the get go (assuming he stays here), that could benefit him.
I’m starting to lean more and more in favor of keeping Kimbrel because we all know that the Sox wouldn’t use that freed up money on anyone good if they would even spend that money at all.
I’m not very excited either. This team doesn’t have much of a chance to go all the way at all unless no one gets hurt and everyone performs like they are supposed to.
This Twins offseason kind of reminds me of the 2015/2016 Sox. Desperately trying to compete while having a very flawed roster that will result in a rebuild. Correa is gone after this season for sure assuming he doesn’t suck.
I disagree with the take that getting Bellinger isn’t possible. Sure it’s unlikely but that guy was god awful last year and is being paid a lot. I think swapping him for Kimbrel with smaller pieces also going to LA makes sense for both sides.
