  1. Bonifacio is the best bunter on the team by a longshot.
  2. I am really hoping that he learns how to pitch effectively with his diminished stuff. If he can change speeds consistently and paint the corners of the strike zone, I think he can still be a solid pitcher.
  3. QUOTE (lord chas @ May 16, 2015 -> 11:13 PM) House of Horrors conquered Not yet. Gotta take tomorrow's game too.
  4. QUOTE (scs787 @ May 16, 2015 -> 09:41 AM) Not sure if serious, but the guy pitched 4 of the previous 5 games. They just gave him 2 days off...,He can't pitch every game of this 10 game win streak they're about to go on! I get that, but he had an off day before yesterday's game too. In an important game to win, he should've been able to pitch. That's why the Sox paid him $48 million+. So he could close big games.
  5. Does anyone know why Robertson didn't pitch yesterday?
  6. Hawk, I don't want to know what you're doing in the shower.
  7. Rodon is ridiculously good. He's only 22 now, imagine how good he'll be at 26/27/28.
  8. I think the key for Rodon is to get 1st pitch strikes. Once he gets ahead of a hitter, they have virtually no chance.
  9. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 15, 2015 -> 09:52 PM) What year? 2049.
  10. The defense is letting Rodon down. Hopefully they fix that problem ASAP.
  11. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ May 14, 2015 -> 10:10 PM) Well the Brewers suck. As a team they have the 2nd highest K% and 5th lowest BB% in baseball this year, so were an ideal match-up for Rodon's first start. Oakland should be much tougher. They're one of the better teams at putting the ball in play, and rarely swing at pitches out of the zone, so not a good match-up for a rookie with control/command issues. 10K in 7IP is probably a little optimistic. Maybe 6 IP, 4 BB, 5 SO. No idea for hits/runs. He faced the Reds last time out. I actually like his chances more against Oakland than against Cincy because of that huge ballpark and the the fact that the A's are horrible against lefties and sliders.
  12. Any predictions for start #2 with our young stud? I'm guessing: 7 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 10 K and the win.
  13. QUOTE (InTheDriversSeat @ May 14, 2015 -> 08:13 PM) But Aaron Rowand is replacing Tom Paciorek. I believe Steve Stone's absence at the series in Oakland was planned in advance. In recent seasons, I recall Steve always skips a few series on the road. Previously, Tom Paciorek was the substitute during Steve's planned absences. I always liked Wimpy together with Hawk. I wonder why Paciorek isn't doing it anymore. Maybe he's too old, and doesn't want to travel that much now.
  14. QUOTE (InTheDriversSeat @ May 14, 2015 -> 07:10 PM) Apparently the Sox are making a change this season. Last year I recall Tom Paciorek was the substitute on TV when an absence was planned in advance, and Michael Huff was the substitute on TV when an absence was unplanned. I didn't like Huff anyway. Rowand should be way better.
