  1. Avi is looking better and better each and every game.
  2. I LOVE JOHNSON! Yes, I do know that sounds weird, but I don't care.
  3. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 12, 2015 -> 07:28 PM) dj is ripping the defense. nice to hear. So is Hawk surprisingly.
  4. Sale needs to throw slider. He won't do anything as a 2 pitch pitcher.
  5. I honestly hate this matchup for the Sox. Fiers is a strikeout pitcher, and we all know that the Sox strike out a ton.
  6. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 12, 2015 -> 06:39 PM) Chris Sale and Jose Quintana had been pitching since they were kids and look what happened in 2012 when they passed their career high innings by a wide margin. They fatigued and the team suffered. Mark Prior, a very similar prospect to Rodon in rank and pedigree, who has also pitched since he was a kid, wasn't handled with care and he ended up spending more days on the DL than on an MLB roster. The fact of this matter is your opinion isn't very nuanced. Sure, Rodon could possibly throw 200 innings this year. Does that mean that's what best for him and his career? Maybe it's best for the 2015 White Sox but it's not best for the organization's future as a whole. Besides, you say this team sucks as much as anyone so why risk an asset's arm mileage on this team that sucks so bad? This is a several hundred million dollar operation, not a video game. You don't push a potential high producing asset to his limits just because he can fathomably pitch 200 innings. 200 innings was just an arbitrary number that I threw out there. It just be 170 innings, 180 innings, whatever. The point that I was trying to make is that he COULD pitch 200 innings if he absolutely had to. I definitely don't think he should, as what you brought up is completely true. I just tend to not agree with the innings limit, especially when a team is in playoff contention. Not that the Sox would be anyway.
  7. I totally agree guys. Even if he does struggle at times, that is normal. He'll have to face adversities at some point if he is to become a star anyway.
  8. QUOTE (TitoMB @ May 12, 2015 -> 05:44 PM) Seriously, so tired of this being said over and over. Dude is a pitcher. Dude will pitch. 10-20 innings is not going to destroy his arm. If it did, he shouldn't have been a pitcher in the first place. Exactly. Rodon has probably been pitching since he was a young kid. He has to have built up enough stamina at this point where he could go 200 innings this year if he had to. There's a difference between not wanting him to over his innings limit and saying he physically CAN'T go over his innings limit, because that simply isn't true.
  9. QUOTE (ptatc @ May 12, 2015 -> 05:07 PM) Sure then ruin his career and any usefulness he may have for the team for the next 6 years. What's more important this year's playoff run or 6 years of him pitching for the Sox. It will be a significant injury risk. Edit: not to mention he will probably be fatigued and nearly ineffective by that time. So 10, maybe 20 innings more than he's supposed to pitch will ruin his career? I don't buy that for a second.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 12, 2015 -> 04:55 PM) Because he's likely to be pushing up against whatever innings limit they have on him by then. That said, at least there won't be a major worry of whether or not he can handle playoff innings. A playoff run is the only situation where I can see them putting Rodon back in the bullpen. Even then, I'd rather have him start and go over his innings limit than go back to the 'pen.
  11. QUOTE (Vance Law @ May 12, 2015 -> 04:42 PM) Well there's the answer. I wonder if they intend to have him skip a bunch of starts throughout the season, put him in the bullpen at the end of the year, or just shut him down. I suppose it will depend on if the team manages to get back in the race. That would literally make no sense whatsoever. Why would the Sox stunt his development by doing that?
  12. Doug Padilla ‏@ESPNChiSox 1m1 minute ago Rick Hahn confirms Rodon will start Friday at Oakland. Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 3m3 minutes ago Rick Hahn announces that Carlos Rodon is being transitioned into #WhiteSox rotation, incl. Fri. YES!!!!!
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 11, 2015 -> 09:06 PM) Eaton, excellent! Joba, meet Broxton. The Sox destroy fat pitchers LOL. They got a run of Jumbo Diaz yesterday too.
  14. QUOTE (Condor13 @ May 11, 2015 -> 08:04 PM) Little league baseball is better then this s***. Fire someone, adjust the lineup, call someone up, blow up, do something I have never seen a worst team in my life I still think the 2013 team was worse than this. Not by much, but a little.
  15. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 11, 2015 -> 07:56 PM) You god damn jinx. It was worth a shot. Sometimes I have magical voodoo.
