I mean chances are that none of these guys will ever amount to anything, but it’s frustrating to me in the sense that there has to be young talent out there that is worthy of being signed, and yet the Sox are doing nothing.
Sadly I don’t see the Sox getting that many free agents in this set up. Most likely guys will either go to rebuilding teams where they have a better chance of moving through the system or the big name teams like the Yankees or Red Sox.
Isn’t the fact that he didn’t use a breaking ball much in high school a good thing? I’m no expert but I’ve heard that throwing a lot of breaking balls at a young age can be detrimental for pitchers. We also have the advantage that Kelley wasn’t used and abused by his high school coach because of the pandemic.
