  1. Beard is going to be our version of Terrance Gore over the next few years.
  2. Are we guessing career WAR? Or just the WAR these guys accumulate in a White Sox jersey?
  3. Engel hits like Mike Trout every Spring Training and then forgets how to hit during the regular season. It’s so weird.
  4. If anything I'd much rather extend Giolito than Cease at this point.
  5. I'm just praying this extension gets done. If it does, the Sox could have a 6 or 7 year competitive window which would be incredible.
  6. If only Yermin could play defense...
  7. Hopefully this becomes official tomorrow. The news became official pretty quickly after the Robert rumors were tweeted out.
  8. You can kiss him goodbye after 2023 then. Moncada is going to be a star, the time to lock him up long term is now. The longer they wait, the more expensive he will be.
  9. If this gets done, the Sox will have a legit 6 or 7 year window of contention. While I see your argument, I’m fine with the deal even if it’s not “team friendly”
  10. Even if the 9/$171M figure is true, that’s only $19M a year for a guy who will be in his prime for pretty much the entire contract. Sign me up for that.
  11. I’m going to be crushed if this doesn’t happen now. So much smoke...
  12. I was impressive with Madrigal‘s at-bat even though he only grounded out. The guy makes pitchers work.
  13. The Sox could literally win the World Series and that guy would still find a reason to complain.
  14. Not that it really matters, but why are Madrigal and Vaughn lower in the lineup than Engel, Mendick, and Delmonico?
  15. Didn’t know what thread to put this in, but man I hope this is true
  16. There’s not much risk in this deal at all though. They’re essentially paying him slightly more than $3 million a year for the next 5 years. If he sucks by the end of the contract they just won’t pick up the club options. I like it.
  17. Makes a lot of sense if they want to make him the closer of the future. This extension avoids having to pay him a lot in arbitration down the line.
  18. The Sox should have signed him to a deal like that. He was the perfect fit for this team. But of course Reinsdorf is too cheap.
  19. The Sox were down like 56-44 a couple hours ago, now it’s only 52-48. We have a shot
  20. To be fair, there are a lot of bodybuilders on this site.
