  1. Jim Bowden is a clown. His opinion doesn’t mean anything.
  2. As big of a Sox fanboy as I am, we have to see how this offseason plays out before I declare this team a division winner.
  3. That makes sense. A Moncada extension should be one of the top priorities this offseason...even if they can only get one more year out of him.
  4. Why would Abreu’s contract have anything to do with a potential Moncada extension? Abreu wouldn’t be on the team by the end of a hypothetical Moncada extension anyway so I don’t really see the correlation here.
  5. I really do think TA7 could be good in RF as he is extremely athletic and has a good arm, but I doubt he wants to change positions. No way I’d move Moncada though. The Sox were looking for a good 3B for years. He’s that guy, don’t mess with him any more.
  6. It’s funny how some people don’t want Castellanos but want to bring back Avi. C’mon.
  7. This would be really bad for the White Sox. Madrigal is more valuable than Benintendi by himself. Add two aging, overpaid players on top of that, one of which is an injury prone pitcher with a lot of miles on his arm? No thanks.
  8. Price is also included in that deal, and he has negative value. So it evens out.
  9. The Sox taking on Price's contract and getting Benintendi because of it makes all the sense in the world for both sides.
  10. Getting out of that hitter’s hellhole known as Comerica Park should help his offensive stats significantly. We already saw that when he was with the Cubs. GRF is a hitter’s park too so I have no doubts he would thrive with the Sox.
  11. JD Martinez is a better player than Castellanos at this very moment, but JD is 32 and Castellanos will only be 28 on Opening Day...so he might actually be a better fit for the Sox. Just something to keep in mind.
  12. Do you guys think he would be willing to DH? Because if he is and the Sox get a left handed hitting outfielder, that’s going to be a really good lineup.
  13. I like it. In this scenario, one of those primary pitchers and Grandal are the only long term acquisitions, both in areas the Sox need. Edwin and a stopgap RF don’t seem like significant additions, but putting MLB quality players at those positions puts a competitive team on the field for 2020, and still leaves the door open for substantial changes next offseason. Vaughn could then play 1B with Abreu at DH in 2021, and the Sox can go after Joc Pederson or maybe even Mookie Betts in free agency next offseason. This makes a lot of sense.
  14. The thing that drives me crazy is that this team has so much potential, but I just don’t trust that Jerry is going to do what it takes to surround this young talent with quality MLB players. Can’t have a repeat of the stars and scrubs team from 2016.
  15. We’ve reached peak offseason on SoxTalk. Pages and pages of mindless drivel for no real reason
  16. He could DH several times a week. There’s definitely enough at-bats to go around.
  17. How does he not make sense? Like I said, he could get at-bats at several different positions. He makes a lot of sense especially if the Sox don’t acquire a full time DH.
  18. I hope they do. Then they’ll have 2 shitty fielders on the outfield corners without the benefit of the DH
  19. Here’s an idea...Didi Gregorius. He didn’t get a qualifying offer and bats left handed. Could play 2B until Madrigal gets called up, DH a bit, and spell Anderson at SS
  20. I’d rather just sign Grandal for multiple years then.
  21. If he can opt out after next year too, why would the Sox trade for him?
