Last Tuesday, Machado signed with the Padres. Today, Arenado signed an extension with the Rockies. With our luck, Harper will sign with the Cubs next Tuesday for way less money than the Sox offered.

We all know the Sox were willing to pay Machado 350 million with the incentives. Just guarantee that same amount in full to Harper and I think they'd have a shot. Probably wishful thinking on my part though.

Harper's contract would easily pay for itself and probably then some. How they don't understand that I'll never know.

Bob Nightengale said in so many words that Harper is signing with the Phillies, so at least we know that won't happen.
