  1. I read where the present White Sox stadium would be given to the females if the White Sox get the new stadium in the South Loop.
  2. The 2024 White Sox had the worst offense and bullpen in MLB. They have done nothing to improve these areas. This tells me they are content with this losing situation. We are probably witnessing the worst years in the teams modern history. Its absolutely shameful that this ownership doesn't care about putting a decent product on the field. You would think JR would have the decency to sell the team rather than just keep losing games year after year.
  3. It seems like ownership/management are losing games on purpose.
  4. I can't help but wonder, why did Houston trade Tucker?
  5. The 2025 White Sox could be worse than the 2024 White Sox team. But with a low payroll this will be one of the most profitable teams in MLB.
  6. The Bears agreed to tax conditions in Arlington Heights. Looks like some movement is coming.
  7. The youtube channel is by a popular man known as Depressed Ginger. He has a big following on youtube.
  8. I just saw a video on Youtube that claims the bonds needed for the proposed new Rays stadium was not passed. Good chance the Rays will move the team now. I remember when JR said that St.Pete was a better business model than the southside of Chicago. I also remember when Eddie Einhorn said Florida was the greatest opportunity for MLB since the Dodgers moved to LA.
  9. The Mayor of Chicago wants the new Bears stadium and is willing to listen on a new White Sox stadium. Some of the aldermen want the stadiums also, especially the one who is the aldermen in Bronzeville. ( which is now the preferred site of the Bears)
  10. I can't help but wonder about a conflict of interest in terms of the proposed new stadiums for the White Sox and Bears. Both teams want the hotel tax to be transfered to the new stadiums. The Governor of Illinois comes from a family that owns hotels. ( The Hyatt Hotels) The Governor does not want to transfer the hotel tax to the new stadiums. He wants the hotel tax to simply go away once the present leases expire. I would think this plays a roll in his resistance to transferring the hotel tax to the new stadiums. Numerous governments use these types of taxes to get stadiums built. If you rent a car in parts of Arizona you are paying a tax to pay for the Cubs spring training home. I don't see why that hotel tax can't be transfered to the new stadiums.
  11. The Sun Times has reported that the Bears are okay with building their new stadium at the Michael Reese site. Looks like there is some movement towards building it there. If the Bears get their new stadium it seems only right that the White Sox get their new stadium also. Wouldn't the same hotel tax pay for alot of it?
  12. Now that the election is over with I can't help but wonder if there is some type of movement towards the new stadiums of the White Sox and Bears. I've always found it interesting that the Block 78 has remained empty all these many years. You would think that something would have been developed there by now. I've always thought that nothing was developed there because there is only one way in and out there, from the north. You can't enter or exit there from the south, west or east part of it.
  13. Ron "Pizza Man" Santo is in the HOF and Allen shouldn't be?
  14. 1) Somewhat interesting book. I read it in 2 nights. Your comments on the White Flag trade were somewhat inaccurate. The White flag trade was wrong and definitely a PR disaster but you claimed the White Sox received handful of prospects none of whom panned out. They received Foulke and Howry in that trade who helped the team for a few years. 2) You pointed out some of the mistakes of JRs ownership. I think you missed pointing out i think JRs biggest mistake. I've always thought his biggest mistake was the present stadium. When the team was looking for a new stadium the 1980s the City of Chicago wanted to build a stadium in the South Loop. (now known as Block 78) JR wanted nothing to do with it. He wanted to build the stadium in Addison Illinois on land that he owned. I have no doubt in my mind that the main reason he wanted to go to Addison is because he owned the land. Just like when he moved the White Sox spring training from Florida to Tucson Arizona. He owned the land where the stadium was built in Arizona. They have since move to Glendale. I don't know if he owns the land there but he did in Tucson. When the Addison stadium deal didn't work out the South Loop stadium was off the table and the only place left was across the street from the old Comiskey Park. The week before the final vote in the Illinois legislature former Chicago writer Jerome Holtzman wrote that JR took a vote with t he investors and half of them wanted to move to Florida. They weren't happy about building a new stadium at 35th and Shields. They knew the location was not popular and would play second fiddle to the Cubs at that location. They also bought into Eddie Einhorns BS that Florida was the greatest opportunity for MLB since the Dodgers moved west. After the stadium bill was passed JR stupidly changed the original design of the stadium. He wanted another level of suites which made the upper deck miserable. The upper deck has ruined the stadium and it was JRs doing. 3) I find it ironic that JR wants to have a new stadium built in block 78 in an area that he declined years ago. If he would have agreed to the South Loop stadium years ago the the ugly scenario of them moving to Florida would have never happened. This could really end badly. The present stadium lease expires in 5 years. If the White Sox don't get their new stadium in the South Loop I wouldn't be surprised if they move out of state. I don't think any new owner would stay at the present location. I also don't think JR will come up with alot of money going towards a new South Loop stadium. He will have the next owner deal with the situation.
  15. Not very hard to sell 18,000 tickets in a market of 9 million people. In addition the young generation are big basketball fans. There really isn't any incentive for JR to put out a winning Bulls team.
  16. If JR actually sells the White Sox. I would think he wouldn't be bothered with the new stadium. I would think he would have the new owner deal with the new stadium.
  17. Looks like the Illinois Governor is not on board for a new White Sox stadium. I assume he's not on board for a new Bears stadium also. If that is the case I can't help but wonder what the owners of these 2 teams is going o do, I know the Bears have a long term lease at their present stadium. But they want out of that stadium.
  18. You're probably right about the exterior of the new proposed stadium. You would think that a brick exterior would be better. I just hope that JR stays out of the stadium design business. He was the one who rejected the original design of the present stadium. He demanded that the stadium have a second level of suites which created the miserable upper deck. It ruined the stadium.
  19. The Bears want to tear down the present Soldier Field and want the tax payers to pay for tearing it down.
  20. I read on Facebook where White Sox historian Richard Lindberg said that there is no local owner who would buy the White Sox and keep them in Chicago. If this is true it looks like there is a real good chance of them moving out of state.
  21. The owners of the KC Royals have offered to give $400 million towards their proposed stadium. The owners of the Rays have offered $500 million towards their new stadium. I would think if JR gives $500 million towards the proposed new stadium it will be built. I'm under the impression he doesn't want to do that. And if that is the case it won't get built. If he does sell the team I hope he has the decency to sell it to somebody who would keep the team here.
  22. Perhaps JR wants to sell now because he realizes he can't get the new stadium built.
  23. It sure has been quiet recently about the proposed new White Sox and Bears stadiums. Maybe something will happen after the November election.
  24. I'm told the far west end of Rosemont (which is empty) would be big enough for a baseball stadium. There is also a CTA/Blue line and Metra in Rosemont. The problem with Rosemont is that most of the White Sox fanbase is South and Southwest.
  25. 20% of White Sox attendance comes via public transportation. There is no mass transportation in the suburbs.
