Do you really think that Ozzie would want this job at this stage? This would be a bad situation for him.
-
I can't believe that Hahn would resign. This is a one time deal for him. No other MLB team would ever sign him as a GM after his lack of success here.
-
One of my main complaints about Hahn is the millions of dollars he has spent on players who didn't produce. The list is endless. Why not sign Giolito who has produced to some degree.
-
I can't understand why they would trade Giolito. He's been out best pitcher. Who do they have to replace him? The only way I would trade him is if Hahn offered to sign him long term and he refused the offer. Other than that I would sign him.

And That's a White Sox 4 out of 5 Winner !

It sounded like there were alot of White Sox fans at the game. -
The thing that gets me about the list is the millions of dollars spent on them. I find it unbelievable that Hahn still has his job. Although I do believe if this season continues to be a disaster Hahn will be gone this off season.

Another option is just to renew the present lease. I have met people who think that will happen.

This win will hopefully turn the season around and help the team into the 2023 Playoffs!!!! -
JR has been a bad owner but he is not stupid. If this team continues to tank somebody has to be held accountable and that person is Hahn. It wouldn't surprise me if Hahn was gone by the All Star break.
-
With the injuries of Anderson, Moncada, Crochet and Hendriks and the complete collapse of the middle of the order (Eloy, Vaughn and Robert Jr), it is somewhat understandable how this has become a disaster. That being said, unless something really changes there is not much light at the end of the tunnel. Also, Ozzie Guillen really wanted to be the manager this season and wasn't given the job. He has to be happy that he didn't get the job now.
-
This has been a dead boring team. I'm beginning to wonder if the manager might be replaced sooner rather than later. I remember when Eddie Stanky was fired early in the 1968 season and Al Lopez was hired. Maybe Ozzie Guillen might be brought in to try and shake things up. Luis Robert Jr has to be the biggest disappointment on this team offensively.

Many years ago George Weiss was the Yankees GM. He created a dynasty with the Yankees in the 1940s-1950s. Nobody liked him but the Yankee owners didn't care. Weiss did his job very well and wound up in the MLB HOF. I knew some people who worked for the White Sox who liked Himes. Fact is JR didn't like him so Himes lost his job. He now has Hahn as his GM simply because he likes him. Hahn has been a terrible GM just as JR has been a terrible owner. They both deserve each other.
-
It was bad enough that JR fired Himes but I will never forget how JR went all over the media badmouthing Himes after he fired him.
-
I've always found it interesting that JR fired Larry Himes after Himes was successful here as the White Sox GM. Yet he has kept Hahn on as the GM all these years. Can anybody really say that Hahn has been a better GM than Hines was?
-
I would have been better off being the owner.

With Burger and Moncada on the team something has to give here. Burger can hit and can't field. Moncada can field and can't hit anymore. Can one of them be traded now? I don't know if trades are permitted now. Is there a certain date were a trade can be made? I don't know what the rules are anymore in regards to trading. Perhaps somebody can tell me if trades can be made now.
-
I really believe I would have been better off being the owner of the team as opposed to being the GM. I didn't have the money years ago to buy the team and I certainly don't have the money now. Its really a shame that I never owned the White Sox. I think I would have been a great owner.
-
Perhaps I should write JR another letter requesting a interview for the GM job.

Veeck also gave the Senators $150,000 when he traded Battey and Mincher.
-
Finley might have been a terrible owner to work for but he won numerous championships in Oakland. Veeck traded off every young White Sox star after the 1959 season. (Cash, Callison, Battey, Romano, and Mincher) Those trades cost the team at least 2 pennants in the 1960s. Veecks second ownership of the White Sox produced four of the worse teams in the history of the franchise. Veeck also wanted to move the team to Denver. Everybody has there own opinion but I would rather have had Finley as the owner of the White Sox.
-
Jack Brickhouse contacted one of the business people in Chicago who came up with the rest of the money that Veeck needed. Brickhouse was the announcer for the White Sox for years on Channel 9. He didn't want to see the White Sox leave Chicago. He still had a soft spot in his heart for the White Sox.

In 2020 Moncada hit 225 and last year he hit all of 212. He's had one great season offensively (in 2019). I think we are stuck with him. I wouldn't think too many teams would want him.
-
Burger can hit but can't field. Moncada can field and hasn't hit the last 3 seasons. Also Moncada is making alot of money. I can't help but wonder if Moncada will be traded. i would like to think the White Sox would have to pickup some oh his money if he gets traded.

SOX WIN!!!!, SOX WIN!!!!, HOLY COW, SOX WIN!!!!

Charlie Finley bidded to buy the White Sox. The Comiskey family sold the team to Veeck instead. I always wished that Finley had bought the team that year instead of Veeck.
