The White Sox over/under for 2023 wins is 83.5
WBWSF replied to Chick Mercedes's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Easily over 83. More like over 90. -
I always found it odd that Einhorn was one of the owners here. He was never happy about anything. He was the one who wanted to move the White Sox to Florida and when that didn't happen he sold most of his shares of the team to JR and he then disappeared from the scene.

White Sox Interested in Naperville Legend Nicky Lopez
WBWSF replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I can't imagine that Burger is going to be on the White Sox opening day roster. That being the case I would imagine that Burger won't be too thrilled being sent down to the minors again. If you can get Lopez for him in a trade, why not do it? -
Other than the fact that the Cleveland stadium is in downtown Cleveland, ( The White Sox stadium should have been built in the South Loop) I think the White Sox stadium is better than the Cleveland stadium.
-
Cleveland extended their stadium lease last year. They are staying at their present location for another 20 years. The White Sox lease expires in another 5 years. They're not going to do anything major to the present stadium unless they renew the lease.

White Sox Interested in Naperville Legend Nicky Lopez
WBWSF replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Jake Burger for Nicky Lopez? Why not? Burger isn't going to play for the White Sox. He's blocked at 3rd base by Moncada and blocked at DH by Eloy. -
The White Sox are going to the 2023 Playoffs.

Jason Benetti & Steve Stone back - options picked up
WBWSF replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If both Stone and Benetti don't come back I can't help but wonder who would replace them. Would Kasper then do the TV? -
Its going to be a Playoff year for the White Sox in 2023 IF the team stays healthy.
-
What happened to the White Sox signing Sanchez?
-
The team won 81 games in 2022 with numerous injuries. If the team stays healthy I can see the team winning 90 plus games which should put them in the playoffs.
-
The City of Chicago wants to spend over $2 Billion dollars redoing Soldier Field for the Bears. Can't help but wonder if the White Sox will see this and want some money for a new stadium.
-
I think its fair to say that JR has been a lousy owner. Still, to put up a billboard telling him to sell the team is a complete waste of money.
-
Looking back at the 1959 sale of the White Sox, I wish Finley had bought the team instead of Veeck.
-
AJ Pollock declined his White Sox option. I can't help but wonder if anybody will even sign him. And if somebody does sign him, I wonder if he's going to make any big money. I think he turned down $11 million from the White Sox.
-
I agree with you that they will want a new park. If thats the case, I wonder where it will be built?
-
Yes the window is still open. If the 2023 White Sox stay healthy they can win over 90 games and be in the playoffs.
-
Yes they own a percentage of it. Reports have them wanting a cable station where they would own everything. We shall see how this turns out. I would think if it happens it would be announced sometime on 2023.
-
There have been reports that the White Sox, Bulls and Blackhawks are going to start their own Cable Tv Network after their contracts expire after the 2024 season. I find it hard to believe that the team would invest in a TV network and then move out of state.
-
The lease on the stadium expires in 7 more years. It will be curious to see if they renew the lease and for how long. I've met people who think the team is simply going to renew the lease and stay where they're at. Its such a sweetheart lease I would think if they get the same deal they might renew. If the lease is renewed for any length of time that should end the talk about moving.
-
You said that money talks and BS walks. Do you really think the White Sox are not making money? JR would have sold years ago if the team was losing money.
-
The bad Guys on the Northside outdraw the White Sox for a number of reasons. One of the reasons is because they get alot of their attendance from out of staters. I've heard different numbers over the years but I'm sure at least 20% of their attendance comes from people who live out of state.
-
I've read a few times that the White Sox gross $250 million dollars a year. With the payroll $200 million dollars I would think they're not going to spend anymore money on the payroll.

How would you feel if the White Sox stayed in the Reinsdorf family? There have been numerous reports that the team will be sold upon JRs passing. I wouldn't be surprised if the family kept the team. Keep in mind they tried to buy the shares sold to the Lucas family last year. I would think they would only sell the team if his sons didn't want it and I don't know if thats the case. I know that JRs oldest son (David) wanted to keep the team but he died a few years ago.
