JR doesn't respond to my letters anymore. Its really a shame because I've really had some good ideas for the franchise. He knows who I am. I've talked to him a few times at Soxfest. He simply won't respond to me anymore. Being a season ticket holder you would think I would get some type of respnse from him but thats not the case anymore.

Wonder what the reaction would be if TLR was brought back to manage the White Sox in 2023.

The wife Of George Lucas bought 30% of the White Sox last year. Maybe she will buy the rest of the team one of these days.

9/25 Tigers @ White Sox - The No Game Thread Yet? Gamethread
WBWSF replied to Middle Buffalo's topic in 2022 Season in Review
1) Is there any reason why Eloy wasn't in the lineup today? The Tigers had a lefty going and Eloy was on the bench. 2) The White Sox drew over 100,000 fans for these 3 games against the Tigers and seemed like they were just going thru the motions. -

Just curious. What makes you think Anderson won't be on the team next year? If they moved him, who would play shortstop? -
Dick Allen who was on the 1964 Phillies said years later that Mauch should have pitched there young pitcher Fergie Jenkins. Mauch hated Jenkins and didn't pitch him. When Jenkens was traded to the Cubs in 1965 Mauch called Jenkins a piece of garbage.

I've never admired Hahn as a GM. I thought he should have been replaced years ago. I don't envy him. He has to make some hard decisions this off season. Moncada and Grandal are making some serious money and both of them are useless. They have to be replaced before the 2023 season. Grandal has one more year on his contract and they might just release him and eat the money. Moncada is owed $48 million over the next 3 seasons. They are going to have a hard time moving him to another team. I would think the only way to move him would be to pickup most of the money owed him. Moncada hasn't hit since 2019 and his defense is starting to go bad. He looked awful defensively in last nights game. I think this off season is going to very interesting.

The upcoming homestand against Cleveland and Detroit will be very successful. The White Sox will be in first place by the end of the homestand. This should lead them into the 2022 Playoffs. There's an old saying, The White Sox are coming, Tra La, Tra La!!!!

9/12/1976 - And That's A White Sox Doubleheader Sweep!!
WBWSF replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The 1976 season was just awful. Even White Sox manager Paul Richards dumped on that team at the end of the season. -
He's now become one of the most dangerous hitters in MLB.

9/2 GT: Sox v. Twinkies 710CT - A new leaf turned?

I'm trying to regain pennant/playoff fever but then I see Martin the starting pitcher Friday nights game. I would rather have Lambert starting. Does anybody know when Kopech will come back? -
The White Sox offered Giolito a long term contract a few years ago. He declined the offer. Looks to me like he made a serious mistake. If he has another bad year in 2023 he might be out of baseball.

Fox. Aparicio, Pierce and Wynn liked Veeck as a person. They thought Veecks trading of Mincher, Cash, Battey, Romano and Callison was wrong They knew that all of those players were talented. All of those traded players had All Star years. The media always liked Veeck. I never understood it. I thought he was a terrible owner.

With all of the injuries on this team this year plus 2 of their main hitters (Moncada + Grandal) have completely collapsed, is anyone really surprised that this team isn't winning? Also it should be pointed out that with Anderson and Robert not playing this team has no speed. They can't manufacture runs without any speed. This is going to be a very interesting off season. I wonder if the team will be blown up or if they try to add players to improve the team.

The White Sox are the only sports team I care about. I look forward to going to the games. So yes, I will renew my season tickets.

JR tried buying the Mets before he bought the White Sox. His offer was rejected. He wound up bidding on the White Sox and unfortunately became the owner.

8/18 Finale vs. Astros (Giolito v. Garcia RHP) 1:10 PM

Stone won't say anything bad about JR or TLR because this is his last year on his TV contract. If he upsets JR he won't be back here next year. At his age i don't think anybody else would hire him. -
I don't see how the White Sox are going to move Moncada this winter. He has 2 more years left on his contract and its some big money. I can't imagine any team wanting him. He can't hit anymore. I would think the team brings him back next year hoping he returns to his 2019 form.
-
If the White Sox get out of the race I hope they bench Moncada the rest of the season. Once he's benched bring up Burger and have him play the rest of the way. Also lets hope that Moncada is not on the team next year.
-
The White Sox have signed some of their players to long term contracts with mixed results. I can't help but wonder if Hahn is going to try and sign Cease and Vaughn to long term contracts. Also. Cueto is a free agent at the end of the season. Is Hahn going to sign and bring back Cueto?
-
The White Sox are stuck with Moncada. No other team wants an overpriced bust. If Moncada didn't have a long term big money contract he would have been gone by now.

GT 8/3: Outfielders? We don't need no stinking outfielders!
WBWSF replied to CentralChamps21's topic in 2022 Season in Review
When he's batting from the left side the opposing teams 3rd baseman is playing shortstop. He could simply bunt the ball down the 3rd base side and he could walk to first base. It must be beneathe him to bunt his way on. -
Trading Battey, Romano, Cash, Mincher and Callison cost the White Sox at least 2 pennants.
