It amazes me the amount of money Hahn has wasted the last 8 seasons. It doesn't seem to matter to JR because the franchise is making nothing but money.

Ricky is not getting fired and he is winning manager of the year
WBWSF replied to Dominikk85's topic in Pale Hose Talk
1) I was kidding about the 3 things I listed. I'm very aware that Maddon wouldn't be signed by the White Sox. 2) You're right I could never be hired as the GM as long as JR owns the team. I would simply want to win, something that is not very important to JR. -

1) The Angels just fired there GM Billy Eppler who hired Joe Maddon this year. 2) The new Angels GM fires Maddon and brings in his own manager. 3} The White Sox fire RR and bring in Maddon to manage the White Sox. -
There have been alot of comments on the internet and in tomorrows Tribune about Frank Thomas critical post game remarks after last nights loss to the Cubs. White Sox management doesn't take kindly to criticisim. I wonder if Thomas won't be asked to come back next year on the postgame show.

I loved Big Hurts comments on the postgame show last night. I welcome his passion for the White Sox He wants the White Sox to win, my type of guy. This last week has been a continuation of the dreadful Rick Hahn era. Last nights game was not only an enbarassment it has to be one of the worse games by a White Sox team in a long time. Giving up 10 runs to a team that can't hit its way out of a paper bag. I wish the White Sox management team had as much passion for the White Sox as Thomas does.

If JR had the good sense to hire me as the GM I would actually consider bringing Ozzie back.
-
I watched the postgame show with Thomas and Ozzie. Thomas was really upset at the loss. Ozzie restrained himself. If RR gets the boot I would not be surprised if Ozzie came back as manager. It doesn't look like anybody else is going to hire Ozzie as a manager. This would be the perfect opportunity for him and probably his last job as manager.

Obviously this was a tough loss. Still, the team isn't hitting. They only had 4 hits tonight.

I'm just glad the team has had a winning season. Haven't had that since 2012. Being in the Playoffs is a bonus. Maybe the team can get hot and go deep in the Playoffs. The only major negative that I can see is Yoan Moncada. He obviously is not the same player he was last year. He hasn't recovered from the Covid virus. Hopefully he will come back healthy in 2021. He hit a triple a few games ago and he looked like he was going to pass out after he was safe at third base.
-
I wasn't aware that he was sick. Did he have the virus?

Mazara has yet to hit a home run. I wonder when was the last time a starting White Sox outfielder went the entire season without hitting a home run.
-
Alternate Dyson and Engel and keep Mazara on the bench.
-
Dyson got 2 hits and 2 stolen bases yesterday and he's back on the bench AND Mazara is back in the lineup.
-
Dyson had 2 hits and 2 stolen bases. I wonder if he'll be in the starting lineup tomorrow night.

Hahn is not one to admit his mistakes. He kept Shields on the team after he was through. As long as the White Sox are paying him Mazara will keep playing all the way thru the Playoffs. Hopefully he won't be on the team in 2021. I'm also hoping that that Cishek won't be on the team next year.
-
Its quite obvious that Madrigal looks like a major talent. I wonder if the White Sox will try to give him a long term contract this off season.
-
Mazara has averaged 20 HRs every year. This year he doesn't have any HRs. I've noticed that some major hitters like Baez and Yelich aren't hitting this year also. Could it be that these guys are no longer on the juice?
-
Alot of older White Sox fans are comparing Madrigal to Nellie Fox. He is similar to Fox . He makes contact and rarely strikes out. Fox was a great bunter. I wonder if Madrigal can bunt.
-
I wish Cishek would go back to the Northside of Chicago.

I've never been in the Rick Renteria should be fired club. I've been in the Rick Hahn should be fired club for years. After last nights game I'm beginning to wonder about Renteria. Last nights game was probably the worse game of the season. Hopefully the team will put the game behind them and start winning again. Still, last night Steve Stone said that McCann had the best White Sox hitting results against Berrios. Yet McCann sat on the bench last night. The White Sox have a DH whos not hitting his weight against anybody and he was in the lineup instead of McCann. When I see things like this I actually wonder how serious the White Sox management team is about actually winning games.

I'll never forget the 1969 Mets. In mid season Ron Santo ran his big fat stupid mouth off and started trash talking about the Mets. Santo said the Mets infield belonged in Tacoma. (At that time Tacoma had a minor league team) A few weeks later the Mets started winning and the Cubs started losing. The Mets wound up beating out the Cubs by 8 games. At the end of the 1969 season Seaver called Santo "Pizza Man". That nickname stuck with Santo the rest of his career.

I never understood why the White Sox kept bringing him up from the minors. He couldn't get anybody out in the minors. He didn't deserve to be brought up to the majors.
-
I've never understood why Grandal was signed to the biggest contract in White Sox history. McCann made the All Star team in 2019. I thought McCann would have been signed to a long term contract this past off season. Hahn has obviously fallen in love with Grandal and I simply don't see why. He's been having a hard time hitting his weight. McCann has done nothing but good since he's been in a White Sox uniform. I have no doubt in my mind that McCann will be playing for another team next season. I really couldn't blame him for leaving. Funny thing about this is the White Sox are stuck with Grandal. Nobody is going to take him in a trade with his big contract.

Alex Colome has been a very good relief pitcher for the White Sox the past 2 years. He's a free agent after this year, I wonder if the White Sox are going to resign him.
