A friend of mine who lives downstate is a big Cardinals fan. He told me over the weekend that the Cardinals have serious interest in Adam Eaton. I don't know if the White Sox want to trade Eaton and I don't know if the Cardinals have any players we would want in return.

The latest rumor is that the Giants are willing to spend big money to sign Cespedes.

I watch as many games as I can. What is life without White Sox baseball?

Baseball cards inside Chicago Tribune today
WBWSF replied to InTheDriversSeat's topic in Pale Hose Talk
1) Voting Kittle over Minoso was absolutely nuts. Evidently the younger people who voted were not aware of how good a ballplayer Minoso was. 2) I'm wondering if they put the Santo card in there to aggravate the White Sox fans. Ventura won the White Sox poll. His card should have been in there. -
September 18th Game Thread: White Sox at Royals
WBWSF replied to InTheDriversSeat's topic in 2016 Season in Review
Most fans seem to think that Ventura won't be back next year managing the White Sox. Everybody seems to think he won't ever be a MLB manager again. I watched the game today and i couldn't help but wonder. In todays game the White Sox had A. Garcia, Sanchez. L. Garcia, Smith, Schuck and Turner in the game. I wouldn't be surprised if these players were no longer with the White Sox next year. I also wouldn't be surprised if these players were no longer in MLB after this season. If any of these players are on a 2017 Opening day MLB roster I would be surprised. -
It seems like alot of cities want to build stadiums for teams. I read where the State of Nevada just approved $750 million for a new football stadium for the Raiders. I'm under the impression that the money is coming from the tax payers. Unless the city of Oakland comes up with a new stadium it looks like the Raiders are moving to Vegas.

1)The second level of those useless club level seats serves the same purpose as a level of suites. The next time you go to the park just look how different the upper deck would look if it only had one level of suites. It would have been a tremendous upper deck. 2) I'm in a 27 game package. If they change my section to a 81 game package, I could lose my tickets in my section. If the powers to be make my package where I have to sit in the upper deck I would not renew my package.
-
The 3 levels of suites made the upper deck what it is today. JR wanted 3 levels of suites. 1 level of suites would have made the upper deck a great place to sit. 2 levels of suites would have made the upper deck decent. 3 levels of suites has made the upper deck lousy. It has ruined the park. The 3 levels of suites was ordered by JR. It was his doing and it will be the main reason why no tears will be shed by anybody when this stadium is knocked down. The team is basically giving those upper deck tickets away and still nobody wants to sit up there. I've been a Season Ticket holder for years and if they ever move me upstairs in the upper deck, I will stop going.

I would like to see a White Sox collectors site. I have a massive White Sox memorabilia collection. I would like to see what other White Sox fans have in their collections.

It would be easy to contend in 2017. Keep the starting pitching the team has now and then sign Wilson Ramos from the Nationals and Cespedes from the Mets this off season. Cespedes MIGHT leave New York. By signing these 2 players it would solve alot of our problems. I've always been very good at telling other people how to spend their money. I'm hoping that JR signs these 2 players.

We should do some polls to pass the time and vent
WBWSF replied to greg775's topic in Pale Hose Talk
For the 4th year in a row I will be glad when this White Sox 2016 season comes to an end. I already wish it was over with. I'm a season ticket holder and I'm still going to go to the remaining games but my heart isn't in this anymore. I'm tired of losing for years and I'm tired of meaningless baseball games in September. -
CEO of Guaranteed Rate seems like a good guy

Does anybody know how much money the White Sox are making from the new stadium name deal? -
I don't think the White Sox are going anywhere outside of the Chicagoland area. I would think the fans of the Cleveland Indians and the Tampa Bay Rays have much more to worry about than White Sox fans do. Both of those teams are bringing in alot less revenue than what the White Sox are. I don't know when the leases for the stadiums are up for renewal in Cleveland and St. Pete but it should be interesting to see what happens to those 2 franchises when that happens.

1) I noticed when I was watching todays game against Oakland, Stone and Benettie were giving a number of items away if you won that contest they have every game. One of the items was a Bill Veeck bobblehead. Does anybody know if the White Sox are going to have a Bill Veeck bobblehead for sale? I noticed that the bobblehead box of Veeck had White Sox logos on it. I wasn't a fan of Veeck but I would want the bobblehead to add to my collection. 2) I followed up with my season ticket rep today (Monday, 8-22-16) and he said the team didn't have anymore Bill Veeck bobbleheads. The one they gave out was evidently a one of a kind bobblehead.

I keep reading and hearing that Abreu is happy that his son is with him in Miami. The son has some type of visa from Cuba. I can't help but wonder, if the son is here in the USA now, why doesn't he just stay here? I don't know if this forum is the place for this but still if somebody can answer this for me I would really like to hear it.

JR settled for the present site after Addison/Dupage County didn't workout. If he would have accepted the South Loop site that was offered to him at the start of looking for a new stadium by the City of Chicago, The White Sox would have been playing in the South Loop these last 25 years. He rejected the South loop site because he wanted to have the stadium built in Addison on land that he owned. He also left Sarasota Florida where the White Sox had their spring training for many years. He moved them to Arizona and had them playing in a stadium on land that he owned.
-
It was absolutely nuts when JR turned down the City of Chicago offer to build a stadium in the South Loop at Roosevelt + Clark in the mid 1980's. I don't know if that sight would still be available. But a few years ago the Village of Rosemont offered to build a new stadium for the bad guys on the Northside. What happens if Rosemont offers to build a new stadium for the White Sox? I would think the owner of the White Sox would seriously consider it. I would rather have a new stadium in the South Loop. But if that didn't workout, I would rather have a stadium in Rosemont than 35th + Shields.

To the best of my knowledge they had 2 sizes, XL and Medium.
-
The batting practice jersey that was given out last night was AWESOME. This was the 3rd shirt/jersey they gave out this year and it was definitely the nicest of the three.
-
1) I wish they would have had a statue day. Statues of Comiskey, Baines, Fox and Aparicio have yet to be given out. I even wrote JR about it. I was hoping they would give one of them out on Fan Appreciation Day. 2) The giveaways they have had this year have been good. The shirts and jerseys have been nice.
-
No!!!! All they have to do is get hot the next 2 months and get into the 2016 Playoffs. Once that happens everything will be fine.

'Huskie Chi-Town Showdown' Nov 9th at USCF
WBWSF replied to InTheDriversSeat's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I went to ticketmaster and most of the decent seats (on the lower level) are already sold. I don't sit in the upper deck at White Sox games. I don't want to sit in the upper deck for the NIU game. I find it hard to believe that most of the lower deck seats have already been sold. I wonder if you can buy tickets for the FB game at the Cell ticket office? I'm going to the game Friday night and i will look into it. -
Maybe Hahn will fool us and trade Carlos Rodon for some hitting. I would like to think he would bring something decent in return. I would rather see Rodon traded than Sale or Quintana.
-
1)Trading Chris Sale would be the biggest PR blunder since the White Flag Trade. It took years for White Sox fans to forget about that trade. Trading Quintana would also be a PR disaster. . 2) After starting off 23-10 this season, did anybody see this coming? It's obvious to most people that the White Sox are going to be sellers this year and not contend for the 2016 Playoffs.
-
Do you believe the Sox will make the playoffs in 2016?
WBWSF replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The more I've thought about this I have to change my opinion somewhat. The White Sox are not only going to go to the 2016 Playoffs, but I'm convinced that they're going to represent the American League in the 2016 World Series. This is going to be 2005 all over again.
