  3. Chicago White Sox @whitesox 7s Prior to today’s series finale vs. Detroit, the #WhiteSox placed RHP Jake Petricka on the 10-day disabled list. Chicago White Sox @whitesox 7s Replying to @whitesox The #WhiteSox have recalled right-hander Tommy Kahnle from Class AAA Charlotte.

  6. Where all the top 30 prospects are projected to start the year Didn't see this anywhere, sorry if it's already been shared.
  7. Matt Eddy @MattEddyBA 6m #WhiteSox release OF Keenyn Walker, the club's top draft pick in 2011. He spent at least parts of past four seasons at Double-A Birmingham.
  8. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 12:33 PM) There shouldn't be much to be conflicted about. We should all want Quintana, Robertson, Jones, Frazier, & Melky to do well in order to maximize their trade value. That's more important than getting a high pick IMO. Having said that, there is more than enough filler on this roster to help pile up the losses. We're going to lose a ton of games started by Gonzalez, Shields, Holland, & Covey, because our offense & defense is simply not good enough to offset their below average production. We can thank the fringe major leaguers on the roster like Davidson, Asche, May, Navarez, & Avi for that. If even one of those guys can develop into something for us that's a win, but the likely outcome is they will all suck contribute to a high pick. And let's not forget that a lot of the young, legit prospects we call up will struggle at first. Growing pains will also help the cause. So my advice for everyone is not to worry much about wins &nlosses as things will work themselves out and the ultimate result should be positive for the rebuild. Yes. Exactly all of this is right, love the post!
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 1, 2017 -> 11:39 PM) OK I know nothing about baseball. You tell me that the team I'm about to describe isn't a contender AFTER our trades. 1B-Abreu (star). 2B - Saladino (Moncada in May, star). SS - Anderson (budding star). 3B - Frazier (good defense; great power just like Abreu). When Moncada comes up, Saladino super infield sub. OF - Melky (serviceable); RF - Avi (still has a chance of excelling). CF - May (awful, maybe a free agent aquisition for outfield if our organization would fricking pay pay pay). DH - Coulda acquired one in offseason for $$. Catcher-Coulda signed a free agent to go with Narvaez for $$ Bullpen - Robertson closer (good). Setup guys - Hit or miss, coulda acquired one for $$ to add to the setup crew. Starters: Q, Rodon, Shields, Gonzalez, Holland. (Once one of the guys we got from the Nats is ready to fill in, not half bad). So how dumb am I? I contend our team could have been a contender this season even with the trades. Without the trades, even more a contender with Sale and Eaton. But it would have required spending a little bit of fricking cash for an outfielder, a DH and a catcher. Excuse me for thinking a big city team might wanna spend some cash in free agency. Ignorance truly is bliss. The posts you write amaze me and the fact that you still don't believe we're rebuilding is comical and honestly getting a little bit sad. You literally want the team to keep doing the same crap it had been doing year after year when it's that very same approach that got us here in the first place. I can understand not being thrilled to be bad and wanting the team to be good, hell we all WANT that. But the facts are that that approach of trying to find stopgaps year after year to fill 4+ holes (at worst that's what would've needed to be filled this year) every year isn't sustainable to long-term (or hell even short-term) success. Your method had been given a valiant effort (for the most part) these last 10+ years, and what do we have to show for it??? 1 playoff appearance and multiple years of SUCK. It was time for a change and everyone knew it. You don't have to be happy about the change in direction, but you gotta accept it. Real GMing in the MLB isn't like managing a team on your PlayStation where you can trade everyone in a day and get a rebuild done in a half hour. In real life, trades take time to develop and the fact that we traded 2 of our top 3 assets/best players this off-season, added nothing substantial in FA, and you STILL think the rebuild is fake....Where should I send your tinfoil hat? Come on man, just stop it with that nonsense.
  10. Scott Merkin @scottmerkin now Rymer Liriano and Giovanni Soto cleared waivers and have been outrughted to Triple-A Charlotte
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 31, 2017 -> 11:44 AM) 69, just because. nice
  12. I think they'll get 67 and maybe less once the trading starts to go down.
  13. Dan Hayes @CSNHayes now W/ Carlos Rodon & Juan Minaya starting on DL and Zack Burdi headed to Triple-A, leaves 12 pitchers for 12 spots. Means Swarzak/Ynoa are on. Dan Hayes @CSNHayes 11s Caveat of course is there's always poss someone gets DFA'd that #WhiteSox have interest in. That's why they wait til Sun to announce moves.
  14. Dan Hayes @CSNHayes 7s Zack Burdi, the last of the top prospects in #WhiteSox big league camp, says he'll start season at Triple-A Charlotte.
  15. QUOTE (SoxFan2003 @ Mar 29, 2017 -> 12:44 PM) I would suggest just walking up to the ticket office day of game and buying tickets there. If you look online, there are still whole sections available. Don't give Ticketmaster any of your money! The Brewers actually sell through Tickets.com, but yeah online or at box office, plenty of tix remain available.
  16. QUOTE (SonofaRoache @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 11:44 AM) Not on the southside there is no explanation. Yes there's a simple one, they won the World Series. Several people jumped on the bandwagon, and if you're a business and you choose not to stock merchandise that will be in high demand, I mean it's your call to lose out on extra revenue, but a very unwise move from a business standpoint. Simple.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 01:40 PM) A 31 year old with a velocity jump? Sounds suspicious to me.
  18. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 01:11 PM) Budweiser is f***ing garbage. Another bad decision by Sox brass. Luckily they'll have about 100 other beers for you to chose from. They still should have a couple Miller/Coors taps there, you'll just have to find them. SouthWallace beat me to it.
  19. Ken Rosenthal‏Verified account @Ken_Rosenthal Ken Rosenthal Retweeted FOX Sports: MLB A.J.’s first broadcast on @FS1 will be #Yankees at #Rays with Kenny Albert one week from tomorrow. I’ll be field reporter for that game.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 10:23 AM) Thank goodness. Did we trade him? link Brett Lawrie - 2B - White Sox White Sox released INF Brett Lawrie. Lawrie has been sitting out all spring with recurring leg soreness, and the White Sox apparently had had enough. Giving him his walking papers now means they'll only have to pay a fraction of the $3.5 million he was set to make via the arbitration process. Lawrie was a highly touted prospect but has disappointed at all three stops in Toronto, Oakland and Chicago, hitting just .261/.315/.419 while having a terrible time staying healthy. He's still just 27, so some team will take a shot on him. Either Tyler Saladino or Yolmer Sanchez will likely open the season as the White Sox' second baseman, but this could speed up Yoan Moncada's timetable a bit. Related: Tyler Saladino, Yolmer Sanchez, Yoan Moncada Source: Dan Hayes on TwitterMar 3 - 1:22 PM per rotoworld
  21. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 10:09 AM) Dude. It's incredible....Truly incredible.
  22. Dan Hayes @CSNHayes now Bullpen battle down to Michael Ynoa, Anthony Swarzak, Dylan Covey and Zack Burdi. Juan Minaya is still in camp but injured. #WhiteSox
  23. Chicago White Sox @whitesox now The #WhiteSox also have reassigned left-handed pitchers Cory Luebke and Matt Purke to minor-league camp. Scott Merkin @scottmerkin now The White Sox have 34 players remaining in Major League camp: 15 pitchers, three catchers, 11 infielders and five outfielders.
  24. Chicago White Sox @whitesox now The #WhiteSox have traded Peter Bourjos to the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations. Just official now.
