White Sox Not Willing to Trade with Cubs
Sleepy Harold replied to Y2Jimmy0's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Nov 29, 2016 -> 05:48 PM) Bernstein isn't a white sox fan. Never has been and never will be. He is a sarcastic wise guyl though. If I am a GM on any team I do not want to deal with Epstein because he wins every trade and will not give up his best prospects and players. That's fine but I don't want to be on the losing end of a trade with the Cubs. I still don't know how they got Addison Russell and Jake Arrieta. for dregach. Yes, he is. This has been stated multiple times. -

QUOTE (Dunt @ Nov 29, 2016 -> 04:24 PM) That move doesn't make any sense unless they really are looking to move Bregman for a TOR pitcher. You have 1B/DH/C between Encarnacion, Gattis, McCann, and Gurriel. He's a FA, which could make a trade for an frontline SP more likely if they're able to sign EE (cough cough, Sale or Q plz, cough). -

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 22, 2016 -> 05:48 PM) Great...lets just drag this offseason out longer (though I don't think there will be a lock-out). Buster Olney doesn't believe there will be an 2017 season interruption -

Frazier wants to stay, doesn't want Sox to trade Sale
Sleepy Harold replied to Sockin's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 21, 2016 -> 04:23 PM) I am all for taking on a bad deal or malcontent if it means improving the prospect return. The White Sox should absolutely be willing to take on guys like Pablo Sandoval, Yasiel Puig, or anyone else if the sending team is willing to include higher level prospects in order to take the player on. Yeah that's how I feel as well, especially if the remaining commitment is 1 to 2 years and the team "rebuilds" there's really no harm in it. I need the winter meetings to be here, all this speculation is killing me! -

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 21, 2016 -> 03:48 PM) ...do we take back headley? if it meant getting/was the difference between getting a Torres/Fraizer/Rutherford back in a deal then sign me up...Headley's not very good but he's versatile (me trying to talk myself into the idea)??? -

QUOTE (Dunt @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 04:55 PM) They finished 16.5 games out of first in their division, what the f*** is this dude talking about? I wouldn't expect him to put the team on blast on the airwaves considering he stated he wants to stay here, but yeah "close" is definitely a reach....close to the bottom of the AL would be more accurate, maybe that's what he meant . -

I was 15 and I remember listening to Rooney's call with the sound muted on the TV and just a giant grin went across my face and it felt like a giant weight was lifted off of me at the moment and Uribe throws across the diamond. A phenomenal feeling (and torture just for being so stressed for a month) that I'd love feel again.

QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 20, 2016 -> 04:58 PM) https://twitter.com/gaslampball/status/789221680820334592 Absolutely no idea if this is anything, but this Padres blogger has over 7K followers. Was there some sort of baseball related event there today to give him a reason to be there?

QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Oct 6, 2016 -> 03:33 PM) Is the 12th pick protected? Meaning could Hahn sign a free agent who was tendered a qualifying offer without losing the pick. No it's not, Top 10 are protected so the Sox just fell short of that.

How about we get back to discussing baseball? Sounds good to anyone else? I love seeing when there's new posts but hate when I have to shuffle through posters just bantering with one another back and forth that they are right and the other is wrong (although the banter may have started on the topic, recently none of it has been ending there, just saying).

QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Sep 14, 2016 -> 11:10 AM) That's the whole problem with your argument, your "if" statement. I will guarantee the Sox have a worse record next year if they trade Sale and start the rebuilding process this offseason. And if you don't think people come out to watch Chris Sale, then why were so many people upset and disappointed when Sale was a late scratch as a result of his suspension for ripping up the throwback jerseys? They should have been just as satisfied to watch Matt Albers start right? I think the Sox even won that game. For one, and speaking only for myself, I was at that game and out in the parking lot once I got the alert that Sale was sratched. Once I found out the details of what actually happened I was disappointed that Sale wasn't traded and was scratched because of an idiotic act like going all Zorro on the team's throwbacks. And yeah, your guarantee is nice angle to take since "if" the sox trade Sale it would essentially signal a "rebuild", therefore the performance of the team overall would probably be worse considering the Ace of the staff had just been traded.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Sep 10, 2016 -> 11:11 AM) I'm convinced you are Kenny Williams. Seriously, I can't think of a single poster who's been more gung-ho on the "retool train" because, like every other year, we're only a few pieces away from "contention".
